I changed the freezer grille assembly (with ice fan included)(AEB73785615). On this particular part, it had what looked like to be a heater on the ice fan assembly. What stumped me, was there wasn’t anyway or anywhere to plug this part up. What am I missing here, as I know these LG units are notorious for freezing around that fan? At the moment I just removed the heater and installed the new grille.

Hello
On this cover you have 3- harnesses:
1) First harness for the evaporator fan motor
2) Second harness for evaporator fan on another model , you only plug in the harness that fits your motor. Leave the other unplugged.
3) Third harness is for refrigerator temperature sensor .

You do not have a heater on the grill assembly.

  • That blue wiring harness will be a thermistor which will plug into the back wall of the freezer when the cover is installed. There should be a spot for it but if not, it would have the same sensor in a different location and would not need to be plugged in. I cannot open up that link you sent over . Did you call your parts distributor to make sure is the correct part ? If it is the correct part , it should have instructions to wire the new heater in the parts box. I went to the parts breakdown on the grill #AEB73785615 , I looked at every part separably and there is nothing that shows a heater.

  • Copy and paste above link to view part I removed. I also contacted vendor and they said none of the grilles have any instructions, so I’m completely lost on this part.
  • I could not open the file. I looked up the part and came up with the same part number as you listed. I would look at the part number listed on the old part itself if it has one. I have been running into bad part look ups with LG and Samsung. I have needed to get the part number off the old part to get rhe correct one.
