Customer states that they have to chip or melt the ice out of the ice bin periodically. The ice door does not seem to be having any problems closing and seems to be tight. Any thoughts on why the ice is freezing together. I am thinking maybe water valve or the filter, although homeowner says they just changed the filter. Any assistance is appreciated.

A defrost sensor not working properly might allow too long of defrost cycle. I would probably replace it, especially since it is a common weak point. Matt Ace technician
