REMOVED THE EVAPORATOR COVER AND EVERYTHING WAS CLEAN WITH NO COOLING AT ALL. WATER IN THE ICE TRAY. REFRIGERATOR TEMPERATURE SENSER (6500JB200S2X) HAS CONTINUITY. WHAT DOES THAT CONTROL?

Hell is right. in those videos they check the overprotecter (ebg6066) for continuity which it had. Then went ahead and replaced it. just a little confusing. what does the refrigerator temperature senser do (6500jb2002x). would that have anything to do with the cooling issue? these parts would take a few days to get. but are they the problem? LG would have to send me to school to understand the service manual. which i would do :0)

  • The temperature sensor in the refrigerator controls the temperature for the refrigerator compartment only. If you have no cooling in both the refrigerator and freezer sections then you either have a compressor run time issue or a leak in your sealed system. Is the compressor running or is it off ? If it is running like normal (or more) then there is most likely a leak in the system which requires you to be able tap the system and install a UV filter dye drier . You would then have to recharge the unit and when it stops cooling again go back with a black light and search for the ultra violet dye to find location of the leak . If the compressor is running and the evaporator has no frost pattern then that is most likely the answer. Most LG refrigerators have a 5-10 year manufacturer warranty on the sealed system/compressor and then you will want to refer to factory service . There is a more simplified troubleshooting section in the service manual that was attached on pages 32-40. Try to look that section over as a guide. We do not currently have a video on an LG evaporator replacement, however I have attached a video of a whirlpool french door model evaporator which is a similar replacement to give you an idea of what would be involved.
