THE UNIT WON’T COOL AND HAD VERY LOW PRESSURE ON THE SUCTION SIDE. I REMOVED THE FILTER/DRYER AND CLEARED THE CAP TUBE WITH NITROGEN. I HAD GOOD FLOW COMING FROM THE CAP TUBE AS WELL AS THE LINE ON THE OTHER END OF THE FILTER DRYER. I RECHARGED WEIGHING IN THE 134A TO SPEC. MY PRESSURE -25inHg vac AND 60psi. IT DOESN’T APPEAR, TO ME, THAT I HAVE A BLOCKAGE. I’M SUSPECTING COMPRESSOR SEALS. DO YOU AGREE OR WOULD YOU RECOMMEND ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE ACTION? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE WELCOME. THANKS

Hello
I have never in 30 years seen compressor seals cause a restriction. Two possibilities are left.

1) Cut the dryer on the capillary tube side about 2 inches from where the capillary tube goes into the dryer, see if you braized or soldered the capillary tube shut.

2) If the capillary tube is not braized or soldered shut, replaced the evaporator # WR85X10022 . This will come with a new suction line and capillary tube, the complete heat exchanger. You can get floating restrictions in the evaporator that will cause your exact situation. Sometimes also you can get oil in the evaporator that migrates from the compressor that causes this symptom also. Either situation the complete evaporator will correct the issue. DO NOT replace the compressor is is not your problem.
