Our Electrolux refrigerator dispenses ice intermittently. It spits ice out on the floor. We have had to shut the water off or it will spit water also. With the water off you can see and hear the dispenser turning on and off at all hours of the day or night. I need to dig into the parts to see if it is a loose wire or faulty control panel?

I need help with how to pull the stainless ring off the control panel to get at the parts.

Has anyone solved this issue before?
I have seen it reported as Casper the friendly ghost.

Thanks,
Tom

What have you tried so far?

Ice maker is functioning fine, but the water is now frozen in the door so that water is not being dispensed. We leave the switch on water and that way when it depresses it doesn’t spit ice.

We have ordered a new door to fix the water from freezing in the door and it has arrived. We will be swapping it out this weekend. But after that I am afraid it will be spitting water at us.

Hi. It sounds like you have an issue with the dispenser module or the user interface control. The dispenser module is p# . I have attached a video for a similar one. The User interface is p# 242041101. Check the switches on your dispenser module. Check that the paddle is not making contact with the switches as well when no one is pressing the paddle.

OK, thanks, I can’t find any screws holding my trim ring in place. Do you have a manual that would show where to pry the stainless ring to loosen it? I don’t want to damage the stainless ring.
