I’m reaching out regarding an Electrolux dryer that continues to have no heat even after multiple verified repairs and full diagnostic testing. The customer has already replaced the heater assembly and the control board with new OEM parts, but the unit still will not produce heat.

We are experienced technicians and performed a full diagnostic process on-site. Here is what we have verified:

• 240V supply is present at the wall outlet and at the dryer terminal block.
• High-limit thermostat, blower thermostat, thermal fuse, and thermistor all test within proper ohm range and show correct continuity.
• New heater assembly ohms within spec and does not show any short to ground.
• Drum motor runs normally, airflow is good, and no mechanical issues are present.
• Wiring harness inspected with no visible damage or burnt connections.

This heater uses a 3-terminal configuration, with Yellow and Gray on the left side and Black on the right side.

With the unit running and the drum spinning, we measured the following:

Yellow to ground: 120V

Gray to ground: 120V

Black to ground: 120V

However:

There is no 240V between any combination of these heater terminals (Yellow–Black, Gray–Black, or Yellow–Gray).

Even with a new heater and new control board, and with all sensors and safety devices testing within spec, the heater never receives full 240V across its terminals. This results in zero heat.

We have used test mode and no codes or issues
We have followed wire schematics and troubleshooting trees as well

To summarize:

All thermostats and sensors test correctly.
New heater & new control board installed.
Heater ohms correctly and is not grounded.
Proper incoming voltage confirmed.
Motor runs normally.
Heater receives 120 to ground off all 3 legs
But the heater never receives 240V across any of its three legs.

At this point my only thought is it appears that the L2 path through the heating circuit (possibly the motor centrifugal switch or an internal harness issue) is not being completed, but we would like confirmation on expected voltage readings and proper test points for this specific 3-terminal heater layout.
As well as any more help you could provide to.solve this

Any documentation or guidance to help verify the issue here would be greatly appreciated so we can finalize this repair for the customer.

Thank you,

A thunderstorm passed through and home power was knocked out for ~3hrs. Everything came back on but not the refrigerator. No power on the refrigerator panel, nor are the interior lights coming on. Confirmed 120V is at fridge outlet, and have plugged/unplugged several times. No electricity spike evidence on main control board, i.e., burn marks on capacitors. Before I simply purchase another control board and install, is there anything else I should check or test? I am comfortable diagnosing a repairing myself with instruction guidance. I don’t know where to check for 120V at the control board, i.e., which wires to check with meter.

My client has two identical dryers. Both are doing the same thing. The lint trap was very clogged/waxy so we cleaned that and that is better but it isn’t getting above 200 degrees, so it is taking a very long time to dry. I believe there is a Service Bulletin about this or at least a tech manual for this unit.

The dryer had an e63 error. I replaced the heater because it was grounded. It still has the door open error on the display. I bypassed the door switch, no fix. Could the mainboard be faulty?

Hi,
I am trying to determine what part I need to fix my dryer EFME627UTT1. Essentially, the dryer won’t start. However, it is exhibiting other strange behavior. The dryer has been in service for about two years since, 9/2019.

When I try to start the dryer, it makes three beeping noises, as it would if the door was open. The door is of course closed however. I put the dryer in diagnostic mode and it displayed an error code of ‘EHd’, flashing as ‘E’ then ‘Hd’. I do not see that code listed in the Dryer Tech Data Sheet. The dryer has a wheel to rotate through the different dry cycles. The center of a wheel has LED lights on it, indicating the time left to complete the dry cycle in minutes. When I rotate through the different dry cycles, the timer doesn’t change as it normally would. It gets stuck on particular value, once at 45 minutes, once at 55, etc. Additionally, sometimes the previous mentioned LED light doesn’t come at all when I start the dryer. However, if I put the dryer in diagnostic mode, the light will then come on and display the error code ‘EHd’ as mentioned previously.

I have taken the dryer apart to check for lint buildup, I found some, but nothing extraordinary. I am assuming its some sort of electronic problem. From some googling it seems it might be the control board, but at around $150 I’d prefer not to miss the call on the diagnoses. Thanks for the help.

Finding plastic pieces in tub when cycle is finished. Took agitator out, looks ok, no pieces come from it. Seems as if inner tub has a little play in it. This may be causing the excessive shaking. I don’t see any pieces broke off of top cover. I would say that’s where the pieces are coming from. The washer is only 3yrs old. have there been issues with loose parts or suspension troubles, or balance problems???? Put the washer in spin with no clothes in it, and it was shaking too much, and did bang slightly.
