The icemaker is not making ice. I have entered diagnostics mode and run test 99 and it successfully ejects ice from the tray and refills it but it does not do this on its own. When running test 00 (read codes) I also get an error 5 (Deli Pan Thermistor Invalid) and error 10 (FZ Icemaker Mold Body Thermistor (MB) Invalid) instantly after clearing the codes and rebooting (one instance zero days ago). I do not have a separate deli tray so that may be bug in the diagnostics software. When I run test 36 to check the temperature of the Icemaker Mold Body it says 31-32 degrees but the manuals state that this temperature must be below 15 or 16 degrees for it to initiate an ice making cycle. Do I need to replace the Mold Body thermistor?

Hello
Have verified the ice maker compartment temperatures. They should be between -5 degrees and +10 degrees. If you are not getting the proper temperatures the ice maker will not harvest. You may then have a secondary issue not letting the unit ice maker head get down to the proper temperature. There could be many reasons for the temperature issue. I would put a thermometer near the ice maker to see if you are getting -5 to +10 degrees. If you are not then you have a cooling issue that needs to be addressed. You could have a defrost issue, low refrigerant charge or a few other possibilities. Run the unit through the diagnostic mode in the manual link below if your temperatures are above +10 degrees. If they are below +10 degrees replace the ice maker head complete, its not worth replacing internal parts of the ice maker in most cases.

  • Test 37 (Ice Cabinet Thermistor Test) shows 11 degrees and as stated above, the unit is able to harvest ice when running test 99 so I believe that temperature is not an issue. Is the ice mold temperature sensor replaceable or is it integrated into the icemaker?
