I diagnosed this dryer last week as needing a new motor. This is a stacked double dryer. It definitely needed the motor but my error during installation was I did not run the dryer prior to installation so I am missing a critical piece of information. I don’t no if something occurred during the week while I was waiting for parts. The old motor was running last week. After installation the new motor did not run. Another error on my part was not paying close enough attention to where the belt switch wires were plugged into the motor. I need a wiring diagram and some advise on how to check for power to the start winding. I have 120v at the motor testing with a multi meter. Both dryers share one control board. The lower dryer runs fine. The belt switch is good, the door switch is good, I bypassed the belt switch and the door switch and the dryer still did not start. There appears to be only two options for the belt switch wires to hook up the motor and I tried both. I also tried hooking up the old motor and it did not run either. Any advise to get me out of this jam would be appreciated. Thank in advance

We had a similar issue and the belt switch missed wired and the Control board needed a reset. Look at the schematic to make sure the belt switch is correctly wired.

  • I just looked at the schematic and as you called it I had reversed one of the wires on the belt switch . The unit is running great now. Thanks a lot for this information you save us ….
  • Awesome glad we could help….
