My washer seems to only work intermittently. Some days it runs full cycles and other days it quits mid way through and I have to open and close the lid and restart it. Seems to be fine after that. Any thoughts on where I should begin?

This typically happens because the lid switch is either loose, broken, or bad. I’ll attach a diagnostic and repair video below so you can further deduce whether this is what’s happening.
