How do I go about changing the version in the diagnostic mode? Will need step by step instructions, the only thing that is not functioning is the pause capability during the normal cycles. The pause works during diagnostic mode but does not work in normal cycles. There are no error codes coming up. Samsung brand.

What have you tried so far?

We have replaced control board and front touch pad inlay board, we have checked continuity in our wire harnesses, and we have ran it through a complete diagnostic mode which came up with no errors. We’ve looked through the manual to find how to change the version of the control board with no directions.

Hello
See the link for the technician service diagnostic manual below. All diagnostic & technical information will be in this #39 page manual.

  • Thank you! This manual does not cover the programming of a new control board if it’s required entering the version number to ensure model series compatibility. Would you happen to have any more information on that issue?
  • I can only remember three times in the last few years where we changed the main board and it was always because of a failing drain pump relay circuit. One time because a drain pump dead shorted and burned up the relay and the other two times it was just intermittently not sending power to the pump when called for. I can tell you I have seen the drain pumps fail to start intermittently too due to a failing pump. If you listen closely you will hear a very low hum but it won’t start turning the impeller. A couple bangs on the cabinet and it may take off again. For some reason they don’t always show the error codes. There is a test where you can cycle the pump on and off. If not you may want to run a drain and spin as it will cycle the pump constantly. You may find the pump suddenly doesn’t restart. I find that these pumps tend to start failing around year 4-5 depending on use. If you changed the board , I would also change the pump as well as it probably will go pretty soon. The pump motor is pretty cheap. Good luck and let us know what you find. All diagnostic & technical information will be in this #39 page manual.
