I replaced a touchpad and PCB due to the touchpad wasn’t working and it intermittently would beep. When I opened the the control panel I quickly figured out the issue. At some point there was a bad roach infestation the board was covered in feces and dead roaches. I replaced the control board and touchpad and now everything works except the two rear burners. I checked the switches they were fine I went to the element both have 240 VAC to them. When I ohmed them out they are both open.i checked them 3 weeks prior when parts were ordered and they were working and customer states they were working before the repair. I didn’t check prior to repair so I’m not sure. Any ideas

Hello
See the diagnostic guide below. I would run the unit through diagnostics to make sure you do not have stored error codes. You said you have 240 volts to the burners. Are the burners shutting off when you shut them down ? A shorted board relay will constantly energize the burners. I would also check the part numbers on the touch pad and board to verify they are the correct parts, double check by model and serial number. Did you check the ohms reading on the infinite switches ? See page #4 on the exact ohms readings to verify switches are good. If everything checks out the burners are the only other possibility. Matt Ace technician

Hi Matt. Yes the burners are shutting off with the switches and I did ohm them out and they ohmed out good. I’m going out and run the diagnostics on it. The burners do not ohm out O/L. I checked them at the the connection to the elements. I’m just confused if they are the burners what would take them both out .
  • Have you called you local PD to double check that the parts were correct. We have had 3-4 circumstances when the board looks EXACT and plugs in with identical harness and still not be the correct board. We have to verify by the model and serial number. I would be sure to check this before installing new burners.
