Samsung dryer has excessive vibration causing the frame on the unit to make a metal on metal noise. I can stop the nose by holding the metal frame at the bottom where the door hooks on. Nothing is touching anywhere and everything looks okay, but something is definitely wrong. For temporary solution I put dryer back together and wedged a thick piece of cardboard between the dryer and the pedestal. With this in place it makes no noise, but the top of the dryer now vibrates really bad. Anyone have any ideas or maybe come across this before. This unit is just over 1 year old.

Hi. I have seen uneven lint build up on the blower wheel or in the blower housing cause this issue on this style dryer before. Other than that it could really be many different things. The best way to approach this would be to take the dryer apart and just check everything out until you find what the issue is. Take the top and front panels off so you can look inside while its running and see if you can track down where the noise and vibration is coming from. Being on a pedestal can make things worse for vibration, but mainly for the washers. Make sure its level. Another possibility would be a drum that is not perfectly round. I was thinking the drum myself, because as it turns it doesn’t stay flush with the back of dryer. I had that thing completely apart for at least 45 min. Found nothing other than that possible drum issue.
  • Very well could be then. OR if the bulkhead that the back of the drum rides on is bent or the rollers axles are bent. I havnt seen any issues with the axles or bulkhead. I have seen a couple drum issues with these units. Usually around the same age as your unit as well. About a year or 2 old.
