Washer started leaking recently, research indicates that the most common cause is the bellows. On older washers, many times the culprit was the seal on the pump where it connects to motor. How can I tell for sure that it is the bellows and not some other part.
I already replaced the hot and cold faucets which I initially thought was the problem but not the box is bone dry including the drain hose inlet.
Still, a lot of water on the floor which seems to be coming out from under the washer on the left side.
I’ve already bought the bellows from your affiliate source but before I waste the $150 and can’t get it back, I’d like to be sure that the bellows is the source of the problem.
not sure what year the machine is as I bought it from a friend who was moving. Serial number is HLW4045088

Also wondering why the bleach dispenser sometimes does not fully drain. I’ve ruined several pieces of clothing, thinking that what was in the dispenser was water, rather than bleach.

If I only get one question, then the first one is the most important. Thank.

What have you tried so far?

checked all hose connections, replaced hot and cold faucets and verified that the drain hose is not backing up. Ran snake 30 feet down the drain to be sure it wasn’t clogged.

Unfortunately there is no way to determine where a leak is coming from without seeing it. Remove top panel and bottom front kick plate panel and use a flashlight and a small inspection mirror and you must actually see where the leak is coming from, and once that is determined we can help you with specific repair video .
