You sent me instructions to use key pad to enter into diagnostic mode. That doesn’t work. It will not respond into that mode using the keypad steps as instructed. What would you do next if you were me? thanks

brian,,
I removed icemaker from refrig., took plastic cover off nose. There is a sort of “L” shaped black plastic piece attached by a screw, about 1inch vertical, 1 and 3/4 inch horizonal, covering the T and H holes on the endpiece. It has a yellow wire into it, and a short metal probe that fits into the H hole. To run the diagnostic with a jumper wire, I would have to leave the L-shaped piece unattached, reinstall the icemaker, reattach the wiring harness. Then should I turn the icemaker switch to the on position and then use the jumper wire to see if the icemaker cycles? Am I going to short out or burn something out doing this? I am hesitant to do this. What do you suggest?
Thanks, ron again

Not sure if this is a cycling problem or a bad timer? Dishes are clean(but slimmy not rinsed) and standing water is not dirty but sometimes cloudy.

I have a maytag microwave and a few months ago the fan would make a lot of noise while it was on high. The noise sounded as if the blades were hitting against something. Not long after the microwave started making that noise during heating as well. Last week, the microwave made a loud noise while heating and the noise stopped all together and it sounded like the problem went away. Well today I used the microwave and it didn’t really sound like a microwave should. There really was no “normal” noise. I could only hear the tray spinning and not the regular microwave hum. Can this microwave be fixed or does it need to be replaced?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Our dishwasher lights up, has power, but will not start. Sometimes if I cancel it, open and close the door, and hit start again, it begins. But it’s getting more and more frustrating. Any thoughts on what it could be?

My dryer seems to heat perfectly fine sometimes, and then other times it takes almost double the time to dry. From what I’ve read on here, it seems like gas coils are the likely answer? Wanted to check before ordering any parts.

the refrigerator started flashing the digital temperature lights not responding to water or ice controls. intermittently. gradual ly worsened and stopped cooling refrigerator and freezer. is this a motherboard failure? if so how much is the part, and availability?

I believe my icemaker failed leaving it run for a while (bad thermostat?)

The upper part of the freezer was wet and warm, and the compressor is not running. I power cycled the refrig, and it is still not starting up…but taking about .3 amp of power at 125VAC.

This unit has an ADC in it, but I know the “test” feature does not work on the replacement ADC which is in it.

What should I be going after?

I know there is good pressure and there is only one water line that comes out of the water solenoid in the back of my fridge. my assumption is that it goes to the filter first then splits to the water dispenser and ice maker. so my question is why is my ice maker not getting water? is there a sensor on the ice maker itself that tells the ice maker to draw water. also I put some water in the tray to see if it would make cubes and it did not. what do you think I need to replace. thanks.

DOES NOT agitate
Makes low humming noise
Eventually starts making squealing noise like a loose car fan belt
Eventually burning rubber smell appears
DOES spin
DOES drain/fill water

Thanks.

[edit] The belts look ok, although the one to the big pulley seems loose? I can rotate the big central pulley about half a rotation either way before the pulley ‘catches’, and then the belt starts to slide.

My Maytag washer will not agitate. It fills, drains, and spins fine. When it comes to the agitate part of the cycle, it makes a low humming noise ( I believe this is the same noise as it normally makes, only minus the sounds of swishing water). After a while, a squealing noise starts, and I can smell burning rubber. The noise is just like a loose belt in a car. The loss of agitation was also progressive, from a ‘weak’ wash, to very minimal movement of the agitator, to complete failure to move, along with the other symptoms.

I checked the belts and they are fine, and there is no oil or liquid leaking. With the belt off, the large central pulley underneath is hard to turn counter-clockwise, and moderately hard to turn clockwise. There is no grinding, rumbling, or clinking noises. The tensioner moves freely.

I might guess that perhaps the transmission has become clogged or the grease has become sticky, or something has wound itself around the parts somewhere?

*This is an edited repeat of an earlier question, but with more details.

Any help is appreciated.

Hello, I am in need of a reverse solenoid part #900414 for my Maytag WU701 dishwasher; it’s from 1982 and the exterior is in pristine condition and everything else works like a charm…except the part mentioned.

The part is no longer available and extensive google searches have come up empty. So, I thought I’d try to repair the part myself. It is a reverse solenoid to open the detergent door. Wondering if you might have any suggestions for me?

Thanks so much.

I have a Maytag refrigerator with a bottom freezer. The upper unit doesn’t cool. I found a video that shows how to replace the jazz-board which I did. This did not fix the problem. I can hear the lower unit (compressor) running and the freezer works fine. Maytag model number MFF2557HEW.

My gas dryer isn’t heating up any longer and everywhere I looked suggested the coils. But when I accessed them and checked them, there weren’t any issues. What should I move on to next? Thermostat?

This washer gets to spin cycle and won’t drain. You can hear hum and burning smell. Most of the time I can rock the machine front to back or visa versa and it will start to drain and spin. The occurrences of this are getting more frequent and it is getting harding to get the machine to start back up by rocking it. Sometimes now have to unplug it for awhile and try. Also it seems easier to get to work if I take clothes out of machine.

Hi, My refrigerator leaks when ice builds up on the bottom of the freezer. I have seen a couple of your videos about what the problem is but I cannot find one regarding my Maytag. Is there a solution to the Maytag problem? I have no water line or ice maker on the unit. I saw one video for a Whirlpool freezer that looks close to the Maytag. Are these the same? I know everyone owns everyone else these days. https://www.appliancevideo.com/update-drain-fix-kit-whirlpool-refrigerator-water-leaking/

Thank you.

Maytag washer starts spinning clockwise during the agitation cycle then overflows.
During the agitation cycle the tub goes from the small jerks into a fast clockwise spin.

I own a Maytag refrigerator Model MFI2269VEW, 2 years old. The icemaker is not making ice but water is coming through the dispenser. Since water is coming through the dispenser would it be the ice maker itself or something else? It is connected to a reverse osmosis system and the refrigerator filter is still in place. I turned the on/off switch off, then on, and the arm did work and reset but I still didn’t hear water fill icemaker mold. My wife and I haven’t used the icemaker that much the last few months.

Thanks

Something seems bound up. The motor is making an electrical hum noise and it’s pulling alot of current (my lights are dimming). A self reseting circuit breaker soon trips after about 15 seconds of this. I flipped the unit over and the big pully would only turn in one direction. After a few rotations, it seemed free and turned in both directions. I flipped the unit back upright and plugged it in, but it still would not spin. Should I be able to spin the drum by hand? It will not turn either direction now. Any ideas what it is?

How do I do further diangostic on this ? Where do I get the diangostic TECH SHEET ? Is the reset button or circuit breaker need to be reset in the washer ? Please help

My washing machine is making a horrible loud & grinding noise through the the rinse and spin cycles and I’m not sure where we should even begin to find out what’s wrong. I watched a few videos but none of the noises sounded similar and I’m not sure what to look for. Thanks in advance for any help with this.
