It seems as though the freezer light switch is bad due to ice build up around it, causing the door alarm. Will I need to replace the entire switch assembly?

Fred, it’s actually a known issue with this model and L-G will send a tech out to repair at no charge. If we come across them, we usually charge a service call only and refer to LG Service for them to finish the repair. Sorry! But yes, I’m pretty sure they do replace that switch assembly.
