Hello, we just bought a dryer that runs fine then it just stops and sits there and the power button flashes. and as soon as you hit start again run runs fine any thoughts?

Hi. Make sure the door is staying closed and not being pushed open slightly by clothing. Check that the door switch is working properly and that the door shuts tight. Also, make sure the power cord fits tight into the outlet. Wiggle the cord while the dryer is running to see if it cuts the dryer off. You could have a loose outlet or cord. Where the power cord attaches to the back of the machine could be loose or damaged as well. This is your terminal block. Unplug the unit to inspect this. If all of that checks good then you could have an issue with the control board or motor. I have attached the service manual for you on a similar unit.

so here is the new info. it runs for 40 min then it shuts down like I said before. the new thing is when you restart it right after it shuts down it runs for 10 sec no air comes out the back and it shuts down and the starts button blinks . if you let it sit it starts working for 40 min and shuts down. any new thoughts?

It should have an error code. Go into the service manual and look up how to enter the diagnostic mode to get error codes. Hopefully there will be an error code to get us in the right direction. Sounds like the motor is overheating. Does the motor hum when the start button is pressed and the unit will not start back up? When you say the unit starts back up but does not blow any air, is the motor running at this time? The blower wheel is attached to motor so I dont think your motor was running if you had no air flow. Also, check for any burnt marks on the control board.
