THE FREEZER IS DROPPING TO TEMP BUT THE FRESH FOOD SECTION IS NOT. IT PASSES SELF DIAGNOSTIC AND HAS NO ERROR CODES. THERE IS FROST FORMING ON THE COMMON SUCTION LINE. THE FAN FOR THE ICE STOPS AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES AND STARTS AGAIN WHEN I CYCLE THE POWER. HOW CAN I VERIFY THAT THE STEPPING VALVE IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY? IS THERE ANY WAY TO FORCE THE UNIT INTO DUAL EVAPORATOR MODE?

Hello
If the evaporator fan motor stops you will get frost on the suction line. I have provided a complete technician diagnostic chart below to test every component including the diverter valve. This sounds like a sealed system issue have you looked at the freezer evaporator yet ? Look at the service bulletin link below also. Matt Ace technician
