In September I found the drain frozen, I thought because of the freezer door would stay agar. I adjusted the door and deiced the drain and the ice room fan. The unit worked till November 27. I returned and found the Ice room fan frozen and the ice maker not making ice again and the drain frozen. The freezer door and gasket is fine this time. There was even ice frozen on the back outside of the refrigerator where the ice room drain is. It is very rusted. What causes this to reoccur like this? What can I do to repair this for good?

Hi. As for the ice build up on the outside of the cabinet in the rear. I have seen this issue before. THis is a defect with the unit. A design flaw. Lack of insulation or break down of the insulation in the cabinet of the unit. This is not repairable and I have not seen a fix for this yet. I will try and look up some more information on this issue. I would suggest calling the manufacturer to see if they have any information on the issue. IT is possible its due to the frozen drain or the frozen drain could be a result of it. Clear out the drain tube. Flush warm water down through it to make sure its not plugged. You can add a piece of conduit (metal wire) around the heater and into the drain tube to keep it heated if there is not one already there. I have attached a video to show this done on a different unit. Watch from the 8:30 mark of the video. Also attached is the tech sheet.
