We have a KitchenAid icemaker that would intermittently stop making ice last summer.
We would find it running, cooling and circulating but no water in the bowl.
Reset the control to off then back on 15 seconds later and it would fill and work fine for
about 1-2 weeks then the same thing.
This issue did not occur 1 time during the winter.
We got a call on it yesterday for the same issue and I went out and found the unit doing same thing
but I found the water line frozen.
Are there any issues with the line freezing on these units? How is it addressed?
Any help is always appreciated.

We have had probably close to a hundred of these freeze up. We also move the fill line on the other side of the wires so it will stay away from the evaporator. We also take a piece of the clear plastic tubing about two sizes bigger and slide it over the fill tube all the way up to the back wall. This has been taking care of the problem.
