WHEN I WAS FIRST CALLED THE CUSTOMER SAID THE FRIDGE WAS NOT RUNNING, BUT WOULD START IF YOU MANUALLY ROTATE THE DEFROST TIMER. I REPLACED THE DEFROST TIMER AND THEN HAD TO MANUALLY ROTATE IT TO GET THE FRIDGE TO START. IT SEEMED TO BE WORKING FINE, THEN I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE CUSTOMER THAT THERE IS WATER LEAKING OUT OF THE FRONT OF THE FRIDGE. I RETURNED AND FOUND THE DRAIN HOSE CLEAR, BUT THE DRIP TRAY WAS PUSHED FLAT AND THE UNIT WAS LEVEL. I PULLED UP THE TRAY AND TILTED THE UNIT BACK A LITTLE. OTHER THAN THE WATER LEAKING OUT OF THE FRONT THE CUSTOMER MENTIONED THAT THERE IS CONDENSATION ON THE FRIDGE WALL THAT IS NEXT TO THE FREEZER. I WAS READING THROUGH THE PAPER WORK FOR THE NEW DEFROST TIMER AND NOTICED THAT THERE ARE DIFFERENT WAYS TO CONNECT IT. IT IS THE EXACT TIMER THAT CAME OUT SO I PUT THE MOLLEX BACK ON THE SAME WAY, BUT THIS NEW TIMER HAD A SEPARATE GROUND THAT I DID NOT HOOK UP. COULD THIS BE MAKING THE TIMER DEFROST AT QUICKER INTERVALS, AND CREATING CONDENSATION IN THE FRIDGE, OR WAS THE WATER JUST FROM THE OVER FLOW TRAY? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS, TODD FROM NY.

Hello

you must have installed the 482493 Whirlpool timer with the flying lead. that powers the timer motor if on the wrong lead it will go into the defrost cycle and never come out to let the compressor run. ASee link to wireing diagram it shoud go on the #1 terminal. see link https://www.google.com/search?q=482493+timer+wiring+diagram&safe=strict&sa=X&rlz=1C1CHBD_enUS740US740&tbm=isch&imgil=mXV0moh2GRJ9iM%253A%253BjhbYixuMKeRl9M%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwdr.wlmirror.info%25252Fdefrost-timer-wiring-instructions%25252F&source=iu&pf=m&fir=mXV0moh2GRJ9iM%253A%252CjhbYixuMKeRl9M%252C_&usg=__JuqjK-yly3DhiRaD3mhaFDy3-xk%3D&ved=0ahUKEwiOieufovHVAhXF24MKHa4RAAQQyjcIRQ&ei=6IGfWY71EcW3jwSuo4Ag&biw=1920&bih=950#imgrc=mXV0moh2GRJ9iM:

The gound wire on the derfrost timer will not have anything to do with yhe condensation or changing the timer intervals . The gound wire should be added as a safety procedure. If the timer is not wired correctly you will develop frost on the evaporator ONLY. The condensation on the refrigerator wall sounds like a door seal issue. Check both door seals especially on the bottom of both doors for a 100% seal, also make sure there is nothing blocking them from closing all the way. There is also a possibility of the custumer leaving the door adjar overnight causing this issue, especially with small children. Matt Ace Technician

HI MATT. DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT WIRE WAS NOT A GROUND WIRE, BUT A WIRE TO ATTACH TO ONE OF THE BLADES ON THE NEW DEFROST TIMER. I WENT BACK TODAY AND PLACED THE WIRE ON BLADE NUMBER ONE, IF I AM REMEMBERING CORRECTLY, I BELIEVE I AM. A FEW MINUTES AGO I RECEIVED A TEXT THAT THERE IS WATER ON THE FREEZER BOTTOM AND THE FRIDGE TEMP IS HIGH. I READ THROUGH THE INSTRUCTIONS AND THERE WERE DIFFERENT OPTIONS FOR THE BLACK WIRE. I USED OPTION THREE, I THINK, COULD THIS HAVE BEEN THE WRONG ONE AND IS MAKING THE FRIDGE STAY IN DEFROST? THE CUSTOMER ALSO SAID THE FRIDGE WAS RUNNING ALL DAY. COULD THAT BE WITH THE HEATER ELEMENT ON? THIS FRIDGE IS OUT TO GET ME!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
