I need a tech sheet and service manual for this refrigerator. It has a smart valve. How do I check it?

Model Number
GI7FVCXXY00
What have you tried so far?

I replaced the filter because it was missing but that wasn’t the problem. It doesn’t appear that there is any voltage to the valve.

There is nothing in the Manuel about how to check the smart value or to check the voltage to it. When I do the diagnostic test #16 and 17 and press the paddle it shows that the value is off . The paddle test #7 shows the paddle is working. Neither the ice or the water work. The water supply is fine. There is no water coming out of the smart value. I don’t know if the smart value is getting power. How can I check it? ???
  • Take a look at the wiring diagram on page 7-1 of the job aid. There is a small chart under the diagram. Here is shows the main control board should send 14 VDC to the smart valve from p9-1 to p9-3. Run your water fill test and see if you get the proper power to smart valve. This should be p2-1 to p2-3 at the smart valve. If you are not getting voltage then you have a faulty main control or wiring issue. If you are getting voltage and the valve is not trying to run water then the smart valve is faulty. IF you can hear the valve humming you could have a water pressure issue or a frozen line/ filter.

At p2-1 and p2-3 i read 14vdc continuously in the water dispenser test even if I do not push the paddle. Does that mean it is the board? I thought it should only show 14vbc when I pushed the paddle. The harness is good. The water value does not humm.
  • Your getting proper voltage to the smart valve from the main control, so your smart valve must be faulty.
