I have a Maytag side by side fridge with freezer drawer on bottom . its 3 years old. Yesterday it stopped working out of the blue. The lights work but it does not have a running sound and is no longer cold. when i unplug and plug back in there is a hum and load knock at the ice maker screen and then nothing. Im assuming the compressor failed . But after 3 years ??/

If you had a compressor issue, you’d still hear motors and fans running. The fact that the unit is silent means you have a problem with your high voltage control board which unfortunately is the most common part to fail on this model. The board is located on the back of the refrigerator so you have to pull the unit out. You can try to unplug the refrigerator for 5 minutes to see if the board will reset, but if not then you’ll just need to replace the control board.
