Looking for an idea of why this unit is failing again. This will be the fourth repair on this in two years, and KitchenAid has been useless. Main board has been replaced once, rebuilt once, something about the defroster has been replaced, and the freezer is not working. Again.

Can you tell me how to navigate the menus for diagnostics?

Any help appreciated.

See repair video that can help on this model ..https://www.appliancevideo.com/kitchenaid-ksrs251lss02-refrigerator-repair-frosting-up-and-leaking-water-drain-tube/
Sounds like you have sealed system failure. You have a leak in the system to where the refrigerant has leaked out. They have had issues with the model you have. You have a dual evaporator system. To fix this issue the Fresh food evaporator needs to be replaced, if you have not already had this repair done yet. The symptoms are warm temps in both sections and slow or no ice production. Even if your unit is out of warranty the manufacture should cover the repair. You will need to set up a service call through kitchen aid. The tech has to come out and call tech line while he is with the unit to verify what needs to be done. There is a service pointer and job aid number related to this repair that you could mention to them as well. SP# W10666205A and Job aid # R-114 or Job aid W10444924. I hope this has been helpful. If you need further help please let us know.

  • The tech sheet should be located under the right french door, door hinge cover on top.

Paul, There will be a diagnostic chart in the in the front under the kick plate or in the back by the cover of the circuit board. You will need this to put the unit in the diagnostic mode. Once you find it email us back for further help. I have also provided you with the parts breakdown for your unit. Matt Ace technician
