Our oven worked perfectly through Thanksgiving (thank goodness!) but last night I’m pretty sure it didn’t heat up to the preheat temp even though it said it had and beeped as if ready. Dinner took much longer than normal to cook and I’m wondering if something isn’t right. I’m going to have my boyfriend take a look at it if someone could point me in the right direction on what to check?

Amanda, there are a few things you can check. We typically go with the element and thermostat initially to make sure both are good. From there, you can also check the control board to ensure it’s working properly. Around the holidays we get a lot of questions about cook times and always remind customers to keep in mind that unless you’ve cooked the exact same thing before, it’s possible that it may just need a little longer cook time, especially when the oven is full of other dishes or if you’re opening and closing the door often.
