I have a GE Profile side-by-side refrigerator (model number PSS25SGMDBS) which suddenly quit holding temperature. The input buttons on the control panel in the fresh food side wouldn’t take any input to dial the temperature up or down. I replaced this temperature control board (part number WR55X10120). When I plugged it back in the freezer and fresh food temperature displays each read ‘555’.
The + /- input buttons will dial up and down but the readings are still in three digits (444,333,222, etc). Incidentally, the + button lowers the number and the – button increase the number.
Is this indicative of another issue or is there a button sequence that I need to press to reset the system?
I have replaced the temperature control panel and plugged it back in. I’ve unplugged it and plugged it back in several tilmes. I’ve held the reset button. I’ve left it plugged in for half and hour. No changes. I do hear fans running when it is plugged in and it seems to be getting cooler but the only read out on the displays are the three digit numbers.
The water dispenser on the door works. I haven’t checked on the ice dispenser. I don’t know that there is ice either.

Hi Paul. It looks like this particular unit is equipped with a feature called express thaw. You will see this option in the fresh food side at the top panel. In my experience, I have noticed the light will be on, usually on 3.0, illuminated orange. If you hit the express thaw button, it should turn the express thaw off. Then shut the door. Open door back up and see if the light has come back on. If it does, Your problem lies in the mother board on the back of the unit. In fact, I have never seen the board you replaced go bad before. If I was you, I would reinstall the old one, especially if it is giving you problems since installing the new one. Please let me know if this solves your problem.
