I Have a Whirlpool Gold French Door Refrigerator
M/N:GX5FHDXVB03 S/N:K02386807 purchased on 6/21/2010.
-The Vertical Mullion Rail (Flipper Mullion) is very warm or even hot to the touch.
-The freezer, set on the warmest setting is too cold.
-The refrigerator is not cold enough.
-After the internal controls for the refrigerator and the freezer are both set to off, the unit continues to sound like it is running. This stops only when it is unplugged.
How should I proceed?

Hi. A hot center mullion divider is a sign that the unit is over heating. This is cause by dirty condenser coils or a condenser fan motor that is not working. Check you condenser coils. IF they are really dirty they are restricting the air flow from the condenser fan motor. In turn, this causing the compressor to over heat and therefore does not cool properly. If they are not dirty, check that your condenser fan motor is running. Its located at the back of the unit near the compressor. It is odd that your freezer is too cold, as dirty coils or a bad condenser fan motor will cause both sections to get too warm. You may have a defrost issue instead, causing you freezer temp to seem like its good and your refrigerator section to be warm. Check you air flow at the vent in the refrigerator section. Do this with the freezer door closed. If no air flow. Check for frost on the back wall of the freezer. If there is frost build up you have a defrost issue. The unit is not self defrosting. This could also cause a warm center divider. It causes the unit to run constantly and in turn the divider gets hot. I have attached some videos to help you diagnose your problem as well as a link to purchase the condenser fan motor if you need it. Let me know what you find out.
