Hello
The 797 is not any error code listed to the service manual. Your symptoms have many possibilities,. I would try to remove power from the unit for 5- minutes to try and reset the control board and run it through diagnostics again. If you cannot get it into the diagnostic mode you will have to start by replacing Main control board. The technician sheet link below will show you how to test all main controls and voltages. Hello
See the diagnostic guide below. I would run the unit through diagnostics to make sure you do not have stored error codes. You said you have 240 volts to the burners. Are the burners shutting off when you shut them down ? A shorted board relay will constantly energize the burners. I would also check the part numbers on the touch pad and board to verify they are the correct parts, double check by model and serial number. Did you check the ohms reading on the infinite switches ? See page #4 on the exact ohms readings to verify switches are good. If everything checks out the burners are the only other possibility. Matt Ace technician

In reply to: not cooling enough

Hi. Are you getting frost on the low side line between the evaporator and compressor? Do you have frost on this line near the compressor? That would be a sign that it is overcharged or a sealed system issue. You said that it is not overcharged. You could have a faulty compressor or a restriction. You would need to check your pressures both high side and low side to find out what is going on.I believe your pressures should be about 3 or 4 psi on the low side and about 135 on the high side. Your temperatures are not that far off from normal, depending on when you check the temperatures. If the unit had the doors open recently or is running to cool back down I would expect the temps you are reading. Does the unit run constantly? I would go into the diagnostic mode and go through all the tests to check your sensors, fans, etc. I have attached the tech sheet for you and the job aid.

Hi. It sounds like the control board is getting glitched up. If one of your fuses were bad, it would not come back on and work after unplugging it. The door switch could be intermittently failing causing this as well, but it sounds more like a control issue. I have attached the tech sheet for you. I would run the test cycle and check for any stored error codes and proceed from there. Alos, the tech sheet tells how to do a factory reset. I would do that if you find no issues. If no error codes and it proceeds to give you trouble you probably need a control board. I have attached a diagnostic and disassembly video for you.

Hi. What error codes are you getting it diagnostics? Check your error codes. It sounds like you may need the software update. I have attached the service pointer for the software update as well as one for the lid lock. You may have already replaced this part number for the lid lock. Take a look at the pointers, especially the software update and see if this sounds like the issue you are having. You could also see if you are getting power to the motor or even out of the control board when the unit is in a spin. The manual will aid you in testing this.

Hi. I have attached the service manual for your unit. The float is a safety device, located next to the sump, which
activates if there’s too much water in the base. Take a look at page 23 which explains the float. This is where your error code is coming from. Look at page 67 for the description of the error code. Make sure the unit is level and the door is sealing good. These both could cause water to leak out and get to the float switch. If it is filling with too much water then you could have an issue with the heat pump. Take a look at heat pump operation on page 20. It explains the heat pump is what monitors water level. This could be your issue or the control board.

Hello
Ice maker is NOT connected to water and the ice maker on/off switch is in the on position. Even though no water is supplied, the Ice maker continues to try to make ice which causes the Ice compartment temperature to remain at 15° F (-10° C). Over a long period of time combined with minimal entry into the refrigerator compartment, temperatures may gradually drop below the set temperature in the refrigerator compartment.
In certain conditions, air leakage from the ice maker compartment may cause foods in the
refrigerator section to freeze. Order Ice Bin Cover Assembly and Air Damper Seal Service Kit, Part # W10295078. Follow the instructions.

I have attached a link to a page that has the instruction sheet to 2 GE boards very much like yours. Please click on and read each page of the instruction sheet and if you do find that you may cut the wire at the J2 connector DO IT IN A WAY THAT CAN BE WIRED BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL STATE * In other words, * make sure you make your cut (if needed) in the very middle so that the wires can be put back together if needed.

Hello
Have you run the unit through diagnostics ? Do you have any error codes ? Go to page #22 in the manual and run the unit through the diagnostic mode and it will show stored error codes. If you compressor and fan motors are running I would inspect the evaporators for an even frost pattern. Matt Ace technician

Hi. I would check your suspension. Push down on the tub and let go. If the basket bounces once and stops the shocks are good. If the basket continues to bounce multiple times your shocks are bad. I have attached a service pointer for the suspension. Run the diagnostics and see if you get any error codes. I have attached the fast track tech sheet for you as well as the training manual on this unit.

In reply to: BOARD REPLACEMNT

Hello
I would call the PDA to see if there are issues or board part number updates. If your original board is letting the interior light function, you know its a board issue. I know the two new boars lets the unit function with the exception of the lights. Have you read the instructions that come with the new boards to make sure there are no jumpers you need to install. On the GE universal boards you need to cut the J2 wire so the air damper in the refrigerator will function and not cool in the refrigerator section, I had a service just yesterday with this exact issue that threw away the box and instructions. Make sure your new board does not have installation instruction modifications on this board. If it does not , I would call with MODEL and SERIAL number to verify its the correct board to you local parts distributor. Matt Ace technician

Disconnect power to the unit for 5- minutes by shutting off the breaker. Then run the unit through the diagnistic mode with the sequence below.
Entry sequence: Press and 3 keys in the sequence 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3 with no more than 1 second between key presses.
Then go to page two in the manual link below upper left side of page to complete the diagnostics. This will give you error codes to determine what your problem is and how to proceed forward. I have add two videos on your model series and a parts breakdown list. Matt Ace technician

Hi. What was the part number of the control board that was replaced? Did it have instructions with it? When the new control board is installed it may be necessary to eliminate one of the wires on the J2 connector. It will explain this in those instructions. This is directly related to the damper operation. Make sure that the damper is your issue. Very uncommon for these to fail. It is normal for the damper to open and then close on startup. They open back up after some amount of time. Sometimes if you adjust the temperature and hold the door switch in it will open it. Could you have another issue causing your warm temps in the refrigerator? Fan motor not running, clogged air flow, defrost issue(frost build up on the evaporator).
