Hi. I did not find any videos this exact issue. I attached a few videos I found that were related. You could just have clogged ports in the dispenser preventing good water flow for the fabric softener. This would just need to be cleaned out if that is the case. You can removed the dispenser drawer and then on the top inside the dispenser you will find the ports. You can clean theses with a brush and something small to stick in each of the small holes to clear out any build up. You could have poor water pressure or an inlet valve that is faulty preventing water flow for the fabric softener. I have attached the tech sheet and training manual on this unit for you. These will show how to run diagnostics and run tests to find out what the problem is.

Hi. I have attached the tech sheet for your unit. The ice maker tech sheet will explain how to start and ice maker cycle. IT seems like you were doing it correctly or close. It does not appear that you can cycle the ice maker in the diagnostics. You can fill the ice maker with water in the diagnostic mode. It is common on theses units to have a broken wire to the ice maker at the bottom of the door preventing the ice maker from cycling. Check for continuity through each of the ice maker wires from the wires plugged into the ice maker and then at the connector under the toe panel on the front left side of the unit.

Hello

See ice maker operation . If you are looking to check the optics look at the manual link below for the complete optics system.

Kenmore Ice maker operation
1) After the freeze cycle time has elapsed (36 minutes for normal operation and 29 minutes for
Acceler-Ice), the main control board will send 120VAC to the ice maker.
2) When the ice maker thermostat senses a temperature of 17° +/- 3°F, the thermostat closes.
3) At this point the current now has a path through the thermostat to the motor. (The motor rotates
the drive gear. Inside the module there are copper contacts that ride on copper strips and are
driven by the drive gear. As the drive gear rotates, the contacts will make or break circuits to
control the ice maker operation).
4) The motor will start rotation and the mold heater is turned on.
5) The ejector fingers will stall on the ice cubes until the heater warms the mold to release the ice.
6) The ejector fingers push the ice out of the mold.
7) After the ice is ejected, the motor continues to rotate the drive gear.
8) The water valve is then energized for 7.5 seconds
9) As the water valve is energized, a signal is sent to the main board which turns on the water inlet
tube heater (This heater will stay on for 40 minutes).
10) Every time a harvest occurs and the ice maker fills, the heater will come on again for 40 minutes.
When the ice bin is full, the heater will not be energized. This may cause the ice maker water fill
tube to freeze over a period of time.
11) Once ice is used from the ice bucket and the level of the ice drops below the infrared beam, ice
harvesting will begin again.
12) The ice will be removed from the mold and the ice maker fill tube heater will turn on when the
water fill valve is energized.

Hello
See the diagnostic guide. Go to page #7 Touch Panel and Relay Control Board Tests. Its sounds like you may have a shorted touch pad. I would also run through complete diagnostics to see if you have any stored error codes. Matt Ace technician

Hello
If you cannot get the unit into diagnostics and you replaced the main control board , you either have one of three possibilities.
1) Your missing a step in entering the unit into the diagnostic mode.
2) You have a defective board.
3) You have the wrong board, we have had boards look exactly alike and be the wrong board. Make sure you double check the part number by the MODEL & SERIAL number for the correct board. We have run into this three different times because the serial number changed the part number. Boards looked identical but internal programming was different. Hard one to catch when you are looking in a different direction.
You must be able to get the unit into diagnostics to proceed forward.

Hello
if you have no water to the ice maker and dispenser it sounds like you have A restricted saddle valve that needs to be replaced. See video link below for STV2 saddle valve replacement . Matt Ace technician

Hello
I believe the service bulletin link below will correct your issue. Also another possibility of frost at the top of the evaporator can be caused by an evaporator fan motor running in the wrong direction or reverse. Verify the motor was not replaced with A motor running in the wrong direction . The correct motor part number is # WPW10464673 . Matt Ace technician

Hi . It sounds like you have a bad main control board. This is the board on the back of the unit. p # W10312695. Attached is a link to a repair video for this part. The new board will need to be programed. I have attached a tech sheet on a similar unit that shows how to program the new control. The program code is found on the model number sticker of the unit.

Hello

The Program Code is located on the Serial Plate on this unit after the word Code. Go to page #3 in this manual link below for exact instructions. If you have any issues please send us the part number you installed. Did you order the board from A parts distributor using your model and serial number? If you did not it , we have seen the wrong board installed due to using only the model number when ordering. The serial number has to be used to get the correct board. They will look exactly alike and will plug in the same , but will not take the code or function correctly. Matt Ace technician
