Does the door lock in the diagnostic mode? Check your door latch/ door switch. It sounds like it is acting as if the door is open. There is a switch on this latch that pushes in when the door is closed. This could be your issue. Attached is a link to the part with a picture.

I agree, could be a stuck button or something was spilled on it and the customer does not want to tell you. i believe they want you to run a diagnostic test mode to pair them up. but i always do that when putting in a new board anyway to make sure it is working properly, check all wire connections as well. those parts are way to expensive if you ask me!

Hello, unfortunately there is no a way to test the control boards. You do need to go off the error codes, i know they sometimes are not the exact part if you go off the codes. you need to go into the diagnostics and see what all is happening, does it agitate? spin? fill? I have attached a tech sheet for you so you can go through the steps.

Here is a video on a very similar unit. The part is very similar as well.

Hi. Here is the tech sheet on your unit. That is strange that it would not start and now it does not heat. Check your heat circuit. Igniter, gas coils, t-stat, and thermal fuses. If none of those are faulty you may be looking at bad wiring or control board. Try resetting the unit.

In reply to: Ice maker

This refrigerator was actually made by L-G. I found the ice maker and is a part number 5989JA0002Q. It is fairly easy to replace and readily available at any distributor that sells L-G appliance parts.FYI i did find it on searspartsdirect.com which is the only place you can look up and Kenmore brand appliances.

It is very unlikely to have both the ice maker and water inlet valve defective at the same time. I woulds make sure the ice maker has proper water supply. It should fill for 3.6 seconds and have 3/4 of an inch of water across the the complete tray. If it does not you cold have a plugged saddle or inlet valve restricting water supply. See videos below.

I am sorry but i am not sure what your question is.You have a “Samsung” washer in your tag and are explaining about a “Whirlpool” washer issue, yet i believe you want help on a Samsung dryer, correct? And if it is a no heat issue did you check the heating element and thermostats for proper continuity? Please rephrase your question to be specific on 1 appliance issue you are attempting to resolve and your testing procedure and results so far and we will do our best to guide you, thank you.

It sounds like you may have a defrost issue. Check your defrost system and the service pointer I have attached for your model. Matt Ace technician

Hi. Yes, if this is a mechanical timer and not a control board, it sounds like you have a bad timer. The timer motor is not working and therefore not advancing for you. Just make sure everything else is working properly and that no other issues are causing the timer to not advance.

HI. This could be a T-stat issue. Also, if the freezer is warmer that it should be and the Fresh food section is freezing things you could have a sealed system failure. Check your temps and frost pattern. If only a few things like veggies are freezing, there might not be any issues at all. Check that food is not in the direct path of air flow or in front of the vents. Try moving food to different shelves, putting food that freezes into storage bags to better insulate or turning the temperature in the refrigerator up.

In reply to: water leaking

Hi. Take a look at the hose that comes out of the dispenser and goes into the tub. This is right above where you are finding this water leak. I have seen these hoses come off before and leak. But it would be leaking while filling more so than while spinning. Make sure you installed the bellow correctly and the clamp is tight enough. I just have one leak on me the other day where because the clamp came loose. Lastly, you could have a hole in the tub under that weight causing your leak. You may have to take this thing apart and really get into it to find out.
