This is typically bad gas coils. It will usually heat for a while when Its first started before they fail. The igniter will glow like you said for 8 seconds or so then a click and no flame and the igniter goes off. Very common symptom for faulty gas coils. Let me know if you need any further help.

I have seen this issue before and have found the belt switch to be faulty. This is the first thing I would check.

Those are error codes for a shifter fault and motor unable to reach target rpm. You should be able to spend the basket freely. That’s definitely an issue that will cause those error codes. You will need to find out why that basket won’t spin. You could have something stuck between the outer tub and the basket or a bad gearcase, or cam.

Hi. What was the original error code that led you to replace the actuator? The lid lock flashing at the end of calibration is an indicator of an error code. Enter diagnostic mode and see what the new error code is. Let me know all the stored error codes you get.

Next suggestion is to run through the unit though an automatic test mode to see if it will go into the high speed spin. If it does run though without an error code that is telling us you can eliminate the motor, belt and bearing. We have had two circumstances where our technician replaced one board with out correcting the issue and then replacing the other two boards still having the same issue of slow spin. We then called the factory to see where to go next . They told us they have seen many circumstances when the new board that was replaced was a good, but damaged by one of the other two boards that were in the unit. We ordered all three boards and installed them at the same time and corrected the issue in both cases. We then sent the other boards back as defective parts.

Yes, the internal contacts for the water valve inside the ice maker have become resistive. Replace the ice maker.

On the Ice chute there is a ( Duct Door Heater ) that goes bad and will cause this issue you are having. See the part number and diagram below its part #369 on the diagram and part number WR17X13004 . I would check a few possible issues with the moisture : 1) make sure the lights are off when the doors are closed. 2) We have also had few of these models where the drawers are not getting closed all the way and the exterior doors do not close all the way causing moisture in the duct assembly and on the outside of the cabinet. 3) I would then check your humidity switch to make sure its working to send power the the center mullion heater. 4) Make sure you have a both condenser & evaporator motors running and a clean condenser. 5) Make sure door seals are correctly sealing with no gaps. 6) Check center door mullion heater #WR17X12980 . I hope this helps Matt Ace technician

Hello, I am Matt A factory certified technician from Ace Appliance. We have had many situations where the motor control and the main control board can not communicate. This is a common failure with these units and can cause high speed spin issues.
Unfortunately there are no diagnostics to determine which board has failed. You just have to replace one and see if it works.
As one board has already been replaced it is the other one that has failed.
You can run the diagnostics program if you like. System causes interference in the communication between the CCU (computer control unit) and the MCU (motor control unit).
Please see the information below to run the diagnostics program. I have also looked up both CCU & MCU so you have the parts breakdown and the part numbers for both boards. Please make sure after diagnostics you have no stored error codes. If you do please send them to us in this same thread link as we will stay with you on this issue until it is resolved.
DIAGNOSTIC TEST
There are two operation modes:
Indication of last four error states that have been recorded by the
appliance, indication of the SW versions, and implementation of
the automatic test program.
Starting Diagnostic Test only.
Starting Error History, Software Version, and
Diagnostic Test:
NOTE: Washer must be empty and the control must be in the
OFF state.
1. Close the door.
2. Select any one key (except “STOP/CANCEL” and “CONTROL

HI. Here is what the F71 error code means on your washer.
USER INTERFACE HEARTBEAT FAILURE
If a Central Control Unit Heartbeat Failure is displayed,
no communication is detected from the User Interface
to the Central Control Unit.
Possible Causes/Procedure
1. Check for continuity of the User Interface harness.
2. Check wire harness connections to the User Interface
and the Central Control Unit.
3. If the drum is not rotating, unplug the MCU from the
CCU (the MI3 or M13 connector). If the code goes
away, then replace the MCU. If the code does not go
away, replace the CCU.
4. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating.
Since you have replaced the MCU your only two options would be the CCU or the User Interface. Follow the steps provided to find out which one is faulty. Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Set your multi tester to the R X 1 scale. Place the tester’s leads on one terminal each. This should produce a reading anywhere in between zero and infinity. If your multi tester produces a reading of zero, or a reading of infinity, then your defrost heater should most definitely be replaced. There are many different kinds of elements, and so it is difficult to say what exactly the reading should be for your defrost heater. But it definitely should not be zero or infinity. If it is, replace the mechanism. As far as the control board on this exact model, we have replaced six of them this year alone. With that being said we service over 16k service customers per year and about 800 LG refrigerators. Hope this helps Matt Ace Appliance

Yes, you can use the restring kit and save a lot of money by using the kit. The MOST important issue when installing the element is to evenly stretch it based on the instructions in the bag. Make sure it is not overstretched as it will become weak and will burn out. The restring kits take longer to install but can save the job if the customer is on a tight budget. Matt Ace technician

First, check the freezer thermister: To check the thermistor, submerse it in a glass of ice water for two to five minutes, then check for 30,000 to 33,000 ohms. If it is OK, replace the microprocessor. We usually find a stuck relay on the control board in the situation.
- AV Repair Help answered 11 years ago
Which thermister did you replace? I recommend replacing them both .

If the ice is frozen and you initiate a cycle and the ice maker goes through the complete cycle and refills with water then this has confirmed that the control board is working (power is supplied to the ice maker) and that all of the door switches and bail arm switch is also working. If the ice maker release heater comes on during harvest (I assume it did since it did harvest) then this confirms the ice maker thermostat is closed. So with this information it seems you have a real stumper on your hands. From your original symptoms and the follow up information I do not see why it is not working. I can only assume that the bail arm is not in the proper place when the bucket is inserted. This almost has to be your problem since all other components check out O.K. I have seen several W-Pool style heat release ice makers where I had to adjust (read as bend it) the bail arm to allow for a good switch contact so the ice maker does not “think” the bucket is full of ice. This models control board will interrupt power to the ice maker when the freezer light is energized, think a bad door switch or a door not aligning well with the door switches and also when the refrigerator is in the Sabbath mode. But I would think if this was the case you would not be able to manually start a harvest cycle since there would be no power to the ice maker.
When you returned to check the ice maker did you try to just remove the bucket and depress the bucket switch, or door switch to see if the ice maker would start harvest on its own?

Thanks for your response.
Serial # F2881640
Yes there is water in the mold. If you start the icemaker it will dump the cubes, Arm goes around and it will refill as it should.
Temp is 0 in freezer.
Yes icemaker is on at the panel. I left it in Max Ice.
Yes if I initiate the cycle. It will run the cycle, dump the cubes in the mold and refill with water.
No the icemaker arm is down.
I will definetly appreciate your advice on this one
- AV Repair Help answered 11 years ago
First of all what is the serial number? SZ made 3 different versions of this model and they are identified by the serial number.
A few questions I have is:
1 Is there water/ice in the mold of the icemaker?
2 What is the temperature in the freezer?
3 Is the icemaker turned on at the control panel?
4 Will the icemaker run through a cycle if you initiate a harvest cycle?
5 Is the ice level arm hanging in the up position which would mimic a full bucket?

The website is not set up properly yet, but it appears they are in the same zip code as fixyourboard.com . Perhaps this is a new project that they are working on. I am not aware of any other company in Austin who does exactly what they do . You might ask if they are associated with Fixyourboard the next time you call them. 512-355-1108
Regarding the control panel, is this an older, discontinued panel? Call fix your board, they were displaying a touch pad that was very universal. I know they mentioned that it worked with whirlpool family of products but they may have options for you.
