In reply to: Dryer is overheating

In an overheating condition it is likely has lint filter housing blocked with lint, I would recommend cleaning the unit of lint at the lint filter and housing assembly to solve this problem.

Unit most likely has a bad drain pump. I would recommend replacing the drain pump. See parts link below.

In my opinion this unit needs a new left rear infinite switch and left rear surface burner.

This unit sounds like it needs a new door latch. The part number you need DE64-00760A

I would check the water pressure through the water inlet valve, in most cases with low water pressure this unit will need a new water valve assembly. These valves over time get plugged with lime and calcium deposits. With low water pressure the detergent cannot dissolve properly. see parts link below.

I would recommend installing a new drain kit on this unit and let it thaw out with the doors open for 24 hours. this is a very common problem with this particular unit. See parts and video links below.

I would start by unplugging the unit, use a screwdriver to go across terminals on power plug or scratch on back on the unit (to ground out unit and reset board). With this dryer, it sounds to me you are having a lid lock issue. This should help unlock the unit, try to power up and hit cancel after this and do not pull on door until you hear a click. After this there should be 3 screws on the back to help take the top panel off and access this component, you can test for ohms by unplugging the lid-lock, putting your meter on the terminals, activate the lid-lock mechanism manually with you hand and you should have continuity. Beware though, a lid-lock could be bad and still test good if mechanism is sticking.

I have tried your model number through sears parts direct and some other web sites with out any luck. Did you get the OEM part number for that magnatron? I crossed one of the numbers you provide that is on the magnatron and I got p#6324W1A001H. Attached is a link to this part. It shows available. Also, this crossed to another magnatron of 10QBP1006.

In reply to: microwave no heat

With that amp draw it definitely seems to be the magnatron that is at fault. I could not look up your model number. please double check that model number and also get me the part number for that magnatron and I will see if I can get you a magnatron that will work.

We just had the same unit two weeks ago with the exact same issue. We found a defective main control board. That is the only other possibility besides the lid lock that could cause this issue. Matt Ace technician ..See links below

Generally, this reverts back to a plugged up filter head, or one that may not be releasing properly. How is the water flow thru the dispenser assembly ? If this is good , then read the attached document to learn how best to troubleshoot this. If you have one of the models below follow the instructions.

Theory of operation, SxS product IDI
 After the freeze cycle time has elapsed (36 minutes for normal operation and 29 minutes for Acceler-Ice), the main control board will send 120VAC to the ice maker.
 When the ice maker thermostat senses a temperature of 17° +/- 3°F, the thermostat closes.
 At this point the current now has a path through the thermostat to the motor. (The motor rotates the drive gear. Inside the module there are copper contacts that ride on copper strips and are driven by the drive gear. As the drive gear rotates, the contacts will make or break circuits to control the ice maker operation).
 The motor will start rotation and the mold heater is turned on.
 The ejector fingers will stall on the ice cubes until the heater warms the mold to release the ice.
 The ejector fingers push the ice out of the mold.
 After the ice is ejected, the motor continues to rotate the drive gear.
 The water valve is then energized for 7.5 seconds
 As the water valve is energized, a signal is sent to the main board which turns on the water inlet tube heater (This heater will stay on for 40 minutes).
 Every time a harvest occurs and the ice maker fills, the heater will come on again for 40 minutes. When the ice bin is full, the heater will not be energized. This may cause the ice maker water fill tube to freeze over a period of time.
 Once ice is used from the ice bucket and the level of the ice drops below the infrared beam, ice harvesting will begin again.
 The ice will be removed from the mold and the ice maker fill tube heater will turn on when the water fill valve is energized.
Note: Because the ice maker fill tube is frozen, it may take one to two cycles to thaw the ice maker inlet tube line.

Low, Intermittent or No Ice Production (Assumes other functions of the product are working correctly)
Step 1: Check Freezer temperature. (optimal 0°F, ±3°F)
Adjust Freezer temperature as needed.
Lower Temp for More Ice.
Step 2: Check to see if optics is working. (Refer to the Technical Data Sheet)
Note: The Optics LED light will only be on for the first 5 minutes after power is cycled. Only use the service diagnostics outlined here to check the Low voltage (LV-IDI) Optics.
 Enter diagnostics (Press SW1 and SW2 simultaneously for 3 seconds. Release both buttons when you hear the chime indicator).
 Go to step 15.
 01 indicates ice bin is full or ice bin is missing.
 02 indicates ice bin is present but not full. (You should see a change in state by removing the ice bucket).
 If correct, go directly to step 3.

This is a common question or customer education service call we get many times . With the new energy savings guidelines Whirlpool has gone to the care control temperature management system.
The new system adjusts the cold and hot water inlets to reach temperatures that are warm enough to dissolve detergents ONLY . Water is kept from overheating to help reduce shrinking and color bleeding while saving energy. So the water temperature even in hot setting feels not much more than warm. We have warranty situations where the customer insists we replace parts to make the water hotter, we have even with one customer replaced the main control board & inlet valve with no change in water temperature to prove its not the machine. If the lid switch is made and the timer is in fill position check for power at the inlet valve. If you have no power there replace your timer. See attached parts breakdown.

In reply to: Freezing food

If the ice maker is not connected to water, the ice maker must be shut off. Failure to do so
may cause food in the refrigerator compartment to freeze.
2. In certain conditions, air leakage from the ice maker compartment may cause foods in the
refrigerator section to freeze.
Refrigerator Temperature too cold.
Order Ice Bin Cover Assembly and Air Damper Seal Service Kit, Part # W10295078. Follow the

Hi. Yes a magnatron almost always tests good with a meter even though it is bad. A lot of times they are loud when they go bad. It will have a loud humming noise. I would check by amp draw. put a kilowatt meter in the outlet and set it to check amps. place a cup of water in the unit and start it on a cook cycle. If you are drawing at least 3-4 amps and its not cooking then you most likely have a bad magnatron. Always replace the diode with a new magnatron.

In reply to: F1 error

The “F1” fault code indicates one of the following possible failures:
1) Failed Electronic Oven Control (EOC)
2) Shorted keypad which is part of the Electronic Oven Control (EOC)
3) Oven temperature sensor is bad .

Let me know if this helps

Have you checked the water pressure from the water saddle valve to the inlet valve ? If you have lime and calcium deposits at the saddle valve it will cause low water pressure and overfill ice maker problems. I would remove the ice maker and dump out all ice and water , then force the ice maker into a harvest cycle. Let the ice maker fill, it should fill for 2.6 to 2.9 seconds and have approximately .5 inches of water across the complete tray evenly. If the ice maker is partially full I would replace the saddle valve. Let us know if this helped . Matt Ace technician
