In reply to: Draining issues

Does your drain line raise above your disposal port? You have removed the drain screen and cleaned. Have you removed the screen that is around the filter?

It could well be the main board, as it supplies power to all the Low Voltage components. Do you have the technician sheet to put into diagnostics ? It should be with the product. That will show you proceed of elimination on the main board and evaporator motor.

You have a shorted low voltage component. Start unplugging the the components individually Evaporator motor, auger motor and see if the lights stop flickering. We had one with a shorted auger motor that gave us the exact symptom. See diagnostic chart.

In reply to: Door seal replacement.

It presses in. It helps to soak both gaskets in a hot bathtub about 10 minutes prior o removing and installing he new ones. This way, they lose most creases and go into the grooves smoothly. Technicians have discovered that they can use a hair dryer and place the new gasket in it for a few minutes to soften the gasket and cause the folded creases to relax. When they told me about this, I was very skeptic and thought the tumbling would break the magnet strip, but so far that has not happened. They tell me this speeds the process up and avoids the water mess and the clean-up afterwards

Does it run correctly with the cover off? On digital microwaves the clock chip is the
same frequency as the RF cooking wave. If the MW is leaking radiation they will only
run about two minutes as the clock doesn’t know to go up or down.
This is an inverter based system and therefore needs a somewhat different approach in diagnosing. Based on your description, toward the bottom of the chart, it may be DPC (control board) but I will tell you that I have seen harness issues cause that same error.

It may not be sensing enough water coming in. Water must cover the wash plate to ensure the basket is floating prior to agitation. Enabling agitation without enough water may cause a fault condition to occur. Have you run the program to see any faults yet?

IMPORTANT
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Sensitive
Electronics
ESD problems are present everywhere. ESD may
damage or weaken the electronic control assembly.
The new control assembly may appear to work well
after repair is finished, but failure may occur at a later
date due to ESD stress.
■ Use an anti-static wrist strap. Connect wrist strap
to green ground connection point or unpainted
metal in the appliance -OR- Touch your finger
repeatedly to a green ground connection point or
unpainted metal in the appliance.
■ Before removing the part from its package, touch
the anti-static bag to a green ground connection
point or unpainted metal in the appliance.
■ Avoid touching electronic parts or terminal
contacts; handle electronic control assembly by
edges only.
■ When repackaging failed electronic control
assembly in anti-static bag, observe above
instructions.

DIAGNOSTIC GUIDE
Before servicing, check the following:
■ Make sure there is power at the wall outlet.
■ Has a household fuse blown or circuit breaker tripped?
Time delay fuse?
■ Are both hot and cold water faucets open and water
supply hoses unobstructed?
■ All tests/checks should be made with a VOM (volt-ohmmilliammeter)
or DVM (digital-voltmeter) having a
sensitivity of 20,000 Ω per volt DC or greater.
NOTE: Avoid using large diameter probes when
checking harness connectors as the probes may
damage the connectors upon insertion.

➔ Plug in washer or reconnect power.
TEST #2 Log Valve
This test checks the electrical connections to the valves,
and the valves themselves.
1. Check the relays and electrical connections to the
valves by performing the steps under Diagnostic:
Manual, then Manual: Water Valves, page 2. Each
step in the test activates a group of valves. The
following steps assumes one (or more) valve(s)
failed to turn on.
2. For the valve(s) in question check the individual
solenoid valves:
➔ Unplug washer or disconnect power.
➔ Disconnect connector P1 and P2 from the
machine/motor control. See figure 4, page 16.
➔ Check harness connection to solenoid valves.
3. Check resistance of valve coils at contacts P1 and P2
shown in the wiring diagram on page 15. Resistance
values should match those shown.
➔ If resistance readings are tens of ohms outside of
range, check the harness pins. If harness is OK,
replace the entire log valve assembly.
➔ If resistance readings are within range, replace the
machine/motor control assembly.
4. Reconnect connectors P1 and P2 to the
machine/motor control.
TEST #3 Motor Circuit
This test checks the wiring to the motor and rotor
position sensor; and the motor and rotor position sensor
themselves.
NOTE: Drain water from tub.

On this model you need to make sure you have proper polarity at the outlet and it is properly grounded. If everything is good at the outlet go next to your burner tube and make sure it is properly grounded. If that is grounded make sure the igniter connections are tight and grounded. If that checks out then ohm out your gas valve and replace if needed. Gas valve part number is W10293048, Igniter part number is #9758079.

Before recommending replacing any parts have you tried unplugging the appliance from the power supply for a few minutes? Can you still use the bake/ broil functions? Do the cook-top burns heat up? Are there any errors on the display? I would try unpluggging the range first to see if that takes care of the issues. Also usually there is a tech sheet on the back of the unit that will have a table of the symptoms and possible causes try looking for that and unplugging the power and let me know what happens.

We have found on this model many defective motors and more commonly wiring harnesses to the motor either loose or defective due to bad connections caused by excess vibration. I would start by the motor harness inspection and then if it looks good move to the motor. See error codes below you are getting. Matt Ace technician.

E3 Machine control is attempting to drive the motor but is not seeing any response.
Visual check shows motor is not moving.

  1. Kenmore is a LG refrigerator. Our company has seen many fan issues turn out to be ice build up in the fresh food section as this tend to cause the fan to freeze and stall. I would bring a board and fan but it may be just ice from air humidity.

Here is a couple of questions I have for you .
1) Is there an error code flashing from your board ? If so what is it ?
2) Did you unplug the refrigerator for 5- minutes to try to rest the main control board ?
3) Did you check to see if you had 115 volts at the evaporator fan motor ?
4) If you have addressed all of these issues and there is no flashing code and you have no power at the evaporator motor. I would replace 241739710 The board-control,temp Control . See parts link http://lookup.appliancevideo.com/lookup/102195/626032

Gary, it’s very possible the load size is the issue. I would advise the customer to not wash small loads unless necessary since they are most likely causing the unit to vibrate. There’s just not enough weight to keep it balanced. Do double check the shocks and suspension are all still in place, but let them monitor and let you know from there.

Did you happen to check the terminal block? I’m assuming that may be your issue. See if you can get that confirmed and let us know!

Kraig, common to these models is the heating element needing replaced due to this error. For this model it’s a 134792700 & I’ll link it below. Good luck!

I would definitely start with the drain on this, it could be connected to all those symptoms. Check all your components while in there and see if anything else is failing. But could be a matter of clearing, thawing, and letting it de-ice for 24 hours before restarting and then keeping an eye on it.

In reply to: tech sheet

thank you.the issue is the basket won’t tumble or spin the clothes. I go the codes for bad hall sensor but the motor tests ohmed out fine. it also starts and won’t stop filling until the control board starts the pump. it will actually fill up half way before the pump kicks in. the fill valve I fine, going to get a new pressure switch first to see if that solves the problem.

Fred, we usually will using locking nuts and add them to the legs. You can take off those little flat legs and add a nut before reattaching them so that you can adjust and then tighten them down to keep the unit from moving and unbalancing itself again. Hope this helps!
