Well your are correct “typically” you will never see any type of failure with the moisture sensor bars. I cant say I have ever replaced them on any dryer. The thermistor is basically a cycling thermostat for your heat. I would assume if you had an issue there that you would be having the same type of issues with your timed dry cycle. When the unit stops heating do you see the ignitor glow and then fade away without the burner firing up? If this is the case I would be leaning towards weak gas coils however this should also present itself in timed dry cycles as well. If you wanted to test the moisture sensor you can just put a piece of metal across the two strips and check continuity with your ohm meter. Hope this helps let us know if you have any further questions.

Hi. Your dishwasher is designed to only use one spray arm at a time. Both upper and lower spray arms do not operate at the same time on your model. Initially the bottom spray arm will be washing when a cycle is started. As the cycle goes on and the timer pauses a check ball inside the wash pump will shift up a ramp and only allow water to be pumped to the upper spray arm. At any time if the door is open or cycle paused for too long during the upper spray arm wash the check ball will roll back down the ramp to its original location and only allow water to be pumped to the lower spray arm.

I hope this was helpful. Please replay to this post if you have any further questions.

Jamie, Click at the video link below. This will show you how to defrost the ice build up without leaving the unit off for more than one hour. You should only need to get to the freezer and can leave the food in the refrigerator. Let us know if this helps or if you have any additional questions. Thanks Matt Ace Technician

hello rob – it basically comes down to 2 issues one is not enough water into unit OR the motor is not working properly – an easy way to determine if it is a water volume issue is by simply adding about a quart of water to unit after it has filled and if it operates the upper spray arm then you do not have enough water -if this is the case it is usually a calcification build up in your supply valve and connection under the kitchen sink where the dishwasher supply line hooks up -if you are comfortable with working on plumbing (be sure to check for leaks after reassembly !!) you can disconnect at supply valve and see if there is a calcification build up in valve & if so turn water off at hot water heater. If supply valve is a compression type valve you can remove it and clear calcification or replace it ( even though hot water has been turned of at hot water heater ( be prepared to handle water coming out of pipe after removing valve with towels and a wet vac ) reattach valve after clearing &turn valve to OFF position and turn water back on at hot water heater . Then before turning supply valve back on do same thing at solenoid valve connection where line attaches to dishwasher, then before reconnecting solenoid valve connection put line in an empty 2 liter bottle and turn supply valve on to flush line and check water flow, which should be very strong . Reconnect solenoid valve connection and check operation – if still not enough water going in you may need to replace solenoid valve( part # 154637401 ) by removing 2 screws and fill hose to tub (very simple) .OR IF YOU ARE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH WATER TO UNIT AND STILL NOT WORKING UPPER SPRAY ARM then unfortunately you have a bad motor – fairly simple to replace but dishwasher will have to be removed for this repair BE SURE TO TURN OFF POWER disconnect electrical supply +drain hose connection and water supply line then remove dishwasher from cabinet. Lay on its back (careful not to damage anything -a blanket to lay it on would be a good idea ) and simply remove 2 screws from motor retainer plate and slide down motor retainer plate from motor recess and unplug motor connection plug. Then to remove motor just pull straight out of unit then reverse steps to re install new motor ( part # 154859101) and is fairly expensive – but i usually do find water issue most likely cause . Hope this gives some direction at what to do and please be sure to check for leaks very carefully after everything is put back together and good luck

Can you reach inside and move the drum? From my experience, it sounds as if something has bound up the motor or the drum, your motor is damaged or you have the improper voltage at the outlet. I’m sorry that this has happened to you.

Your model number should be located on the top panel beneath the lid when you open it.
As far as the tech guide goes. The manufacturer doesn’t supply it for the customer, but it is “hidden” on your machine. To access it you will need to remove 3 screws and 1 small panel from the rear of the machine. There is a bracket that goes from your back panel of the machine to the control panel. You need to remove the 2 1/4″ screws that secure the top of the machine to those brackets. Next there is a small panel (roughly 3×5) held in place by one 1/4″ screw. Once these are removed you can grasp the top panel and gently slide it forward and backward while gently lifting up. Once up you will find the tech guide inside the front panel.

I hope this helps

Are you certain that you have the proper amount of water in the unit? Make sure that you have water that is near the float which is usually in the front right hand comer of the tub. I hope this helps you!

What exactly is it doing or not doing? Will the unit not power up at all? Are the keys unresponsive? With more information I will be happy to assist

Tyler, the disposal does not need to be plugged in to turn the unit with an Allen wrench. If it is completely locked up and you cannot move it at all, its time to replace the disposal. Call our parts department at 1-800-830-5465 and we can drop ship one the same day to your doorstep, we are open 7-days a week until 11pm Eastern. Matt Ace technician

Julie, yes you need to defrost the freezer in order for this to work properly. Click on video link below to see how to properly remove the ice. Once its completely defrosted let us know if the ice maker starts producing ice. If it does not produce ice we will troubleshoot that issue at that time. Matt Ace Technician

The disposer does not have to be plugged in for the the Allen wrench to work for you. The Allen wrench is used to attempt to free up the mechanical components of the motor. If the motor was tied up originally and has been sitting for a long time you may not be able to break the internal components free. 🙁

Good news though, most of the manufactures have made disposals very universal, and, if you are mechanically inclined, can be replace one on your own. If you are not comfortable doing the repair on your own we can defiantly try and refer a local Appliance Repair company for you. Just let us know.. 😉

Not all relays are the same, and unfortunately LG’s look ups are a little tricky. If you have your model # you can call 1-800-816-0715 and they should be able to help you out further and get the exact one for your model.

There is also an aftermarket kit available that is a more generic overload/relay kit too. Many manufactures do not recommend using this kit, however, it is a product that is frequently used in the field by many technicians. See the attached link and good luck!

I have attached the most current version of the Whirlpool replacement part for their duckbill drain kit. I also attached the video link to help you out with the repair. Good Luck!

When you say that the dryer stops in the middle of the cycle does it stop tumbling OR stop heating and continues to tumble? Is the dryer gas or electric? Have you went outside to the vent hood while the dryer is running to verify that you have strong airflow going out?

Another option besides the fill tube being out of place
Did you completely clear the drain trough (in the freezer, behind the back panel there is a tray and beneath that is the drain – this connects to the tube that you installed). The ice in this area must be cleared for water to drain through. You can disassemble the freezer to access and remove ice or shut the refrigerator off and leave both doors open for roughly 12 hours for the ice to melt.

Hopefully this helps

I would first check to see if the fill tube on the ice maker got bumped out of place while you were working in the freezer section. if that tube is out of place the water that is supposed to fill the ice maker may be draining down into the freezer. I attached a video link for a GE refrigerator ice tube adjustment to give you an idea on what to look for. Good Luck!

Adam, No the ground strap will have nothing to do with the defrost problem. If you put the defrost thermostat in ice water in 5-minutes it should have continuity. That will save you $20 on the thermostat. If it does not have continuity I would just replace that. If it does replace the replace the timer and thermistor. I added a link below of the parts list for you appliance so you can find the parts and videos you need. Matt Ace service technician

John
You could have a few possibilities
1) A bad motor drawing high amprege
2) A timer with bad contacts
3) A plugged dryer vent that letting the unit overheat
4) Bad coils
Click on the two video links below and watch the videos to see if they help. If they do not email us back for more suggestions. Matt Ace technician

In reply to: Blinking Error Codes

Elisa , The Whirlpool main control board is designed to stop the cycle and not allow any further cycles if it suspects a faulty heater. Clean LED blinks 7 times and repeats and disables the start resume key until cleared. Running the Service Diagnostics clears the control and allows normal operation. If not corrected the control will stop again on the next cycle. If the element and thermostat check good, check for pinched wires. If no pinched wires replace the electronic control:
