I know some Kenmore refrigerators are made by LG or Samsung can you tell me if this one is made by either one of those companies? If it was by LG or Samsung what is there corresponding model number?

This model was manufactured by G.E. There is no corresponding model number. DE indicates there is a defrost problem. Very common issue on these models . You can check the glass tube heaters for continuity and one of them will almost always be bad.(but replace both in kit ) The heater part # is wr51x443 and it comes complete with both heaters, the harness and the defrost termination switch all in one. We also recommend replacing the defrost timer as well while your at it . That part # is wr09x0489. I have attached a link to your model parts for you. The defrost timer is located in the control panel in the fresh food section as you can see in the parts breakdown.
