Door won’t lock ‘FL’ error code.

Had a tech come out and look at it. He said the lock needed to be replaced. He replaced that and it didn’t work. Said the control board needed to be replaced, but wasn’t available. He took the lock back.

I bought a new lock and a used, but ‘tested as working’ control board. Replaced both and it’s still not working.

When you power the machine on, shut the door and attempt to wash it starts to click a few times and then finally gives off the ‘FL’ error code. The click sounds like a relay to me, but what do I know. It doesn’t sound like it’s coming from the lock, but more toward the back of the machine. I have a video I was hoping to upload, but it’s 2020 and that feature apparently hasn’t been discovered yet.

So my question is what do I do to fix it?

Hello
See the complete service manual, troubleshooting and wiring diagram links below.

The FL error code can be a few possibilities.

1) The door lock switch is not connected correctly.
2) The door lock terminal is broken.
3) The main ( PCB ) Power control board is defective and needs replacement.

  • The repair tech that came to my house said the control boards weren’t available. I found one myself on ebay, it wasn’t new but they said it was tested to be working. So I can’t be 100% that’s still not the issue. Thank you, I’ll call tomorrow to order that terminal and will send my old control board out to be rebuilt.
  • Mike, also double check on the control board by the serial number on the washer. There are Samsung models that take different control boards, they are separated by the serial number only. Be sure they check by the serial number.
  • When you say, “door lock terminal is broken” you’re referring to a physical part of the door lock assembly? The tag on the control board I purchased is missing. There’s raised embossed letters in the bottom left corner that say: GRACE JR GUIDE-PCB(C) DC61 – 03033A >PS-HI(VE1877)< C.S 2-1 Which is identical to mine except for the last line which says: B.W-1*2 Does that mean anything?
  • Yes, correct on the lock assembly. The only numbers that mean anything are the DC61 – 03033A . Its sounds like its the correct board. You just do not know if its been installed before and its a good board. If you purchased it from a parts distributer that had it new, you would be sure its never been installed.
  • Thank you for your help. You are correct I don’t know if that board is 100% working. I know the door lock assembly is 100% new. I’m contacting CoreCentric to rebuild my control board now.
