Check for power to the compressor. If you have power to the compressor you could have a bad overload/relay or a faulty compressor. If no power to the board you could have a bad main control board. The control boards are common on this unit.

i changed the power supply to the compressor and it works now. however the compressor seems very very quiet and it shacks a few times before it starts . also on an empty unit i am only getting 10F in the freezer and 35f in the fridge on the lower part near the vents. can it be that i am low on Freon?

With the frige being empty your getting good temps. 32-40 is normal for the refrigerator and 0-5 is normal for the freezer. Your temps are not far off at all. Are you getting good air flow? What power supply did you change to the compressor. Sounds like you could have a weak overload/ relay. If the compressor continues to do this under normal operation I would replace the overload/ relay.

Ok. So it does not have an overload and relay then. If this continues to happen under normal operation the compressor could be faulty. When the unit is turned off and back on again the compressor will do this initially.
