I have a Family Hub Refrigerator with 4 doors. The freezer section (bottom left) no longer freezes. The flex zone (bottom right) now seems to not be cooling as well as it use to (used as a fridge). Fault history shows error 83: Compressor Current & 84: Compressor Motor from about 6 weeks ago. However, those faults do not show anymore when running a self-diagnosis. I receive no errors during a self-diagnosis. I’m. trying to figure out if I should try replacing the PCB inverter board, or if it’s a more serious issue.

What have you tried so far?

I ran Force Run 1 (FF), and under Load Status it has shown the compressor come on, each of the fans come on, and each of the valves come on (FRIDGE, FREEZER, CV). After running this for approximately 24 hrs, the freezer temp did drop significantly, but only froze the contents on the top shelf of the freezer door (all contents have been removed from the freezer except some contents from the door shelves). Fridge manager showed the freezer temp at 64F when I started and showed -8F when I finished, but there’s no way it was -8F in the freezer. I don’t see any visible damage on any of the boards (just the sides I can see) nor the compressor area or lines.

Hello
I would start with the self diagnostics test on page #91 in the service manual link below. This should pinpoint the area or component that is not functioning correctly. The #83 & 84 error is a compressor current and stall error – you cold have a defective inverter PCB issue. You will need to make sure you have proper 115 volts to the PCB input voltage. If you have 115-120 volts in you cold have an inverter internal issue and will need to replace it if all compressor connections are good. There is also a troubleshooting flow chart on page #109 that will walk you through step by step diagnostics. I have also provided Disassembly & Reassembly , Training manual, Schematic Diagram. Hope this helps.
