If you still have your book that came with it you should be able to re-calibrate the oven and see if that fixes your issue. Sometimes it really is as simple a fix as that. But if it doesn’t work, we’d suggest replacing the ERC. It is a little pricey but it may be failing and not bringing the oven up to temperature. Let us know if there’s any more we can do and hopefully this gets you working for the holidays again.

This sounds like your heater coil/element needs replaced Laureen. I’ll add the part information below as well as a video if you want to do the repair yourself. I think you’ll have no problem completing this on your own. Also be sure to check your venting for restrictions, both inside and outside. Let us know if there’s anything else we can do for you!

Valerie, does it look like the part I added below for you? It’s called a Stirrer Fan Cover and you can easily replace this yourself. Good Luck.

In reply to: Not getting hot water?

Unfortunately, this is probably an issue with your inlet valve and we’d most likely change it out. There may be an open thermister causing it to malfunction. I’d call Whirlpool directly to have it covered under your manufacturer’s warranty. 1-800-253-1301. Good luck!

Earl, unfortunately this is normal operation. Especially when using the heat dry option. We get a lot of questions around the holidays when they are being used much more frequently, and multiple times in one day. You tend to notice things that you might not have before. But try and advise the grandchildren to avoid that since it’s hot, or maybe opt to run it at a different time if possible. Hope this helps!

Willie, this sounds like your defrost drain is either clogged or frozen. We’ve changed out a number of them recently to keep this from happening but you can use some hot water to force the line open and see if it solves it. Occasionally we have to change it out but clearing it may work just as well. Let us know!

HI. I have attached a video for you to help you diagnose your problem. Sounds like you have verified that your compressor and condenser fan motor are running and your condenser coils are clean. Next see if you evaporator fan motor is running. If so, check your frost pattern on your evaporator. If should look like the frost pattern in the video. If not you may have a sealed system issue. This could be a leak in the system, restriction, or faulty compressor. Let me know what you find out.

Hi. Yes you do need to defrost the drain after installing the new drain kit. You can do this by taking the freezer apart and manually defrosting it or by leaving the unit unplugged with the doors open for up to 24 hours. Attached is a video that shows how to manually defrost the drain.

Hi. I have seen this before. First I would check to make sure nothing is rubbing against the pulley or belt. Tip the washer back and check under it for anything that would be rubbing. Also, make sure there is nothing stuck between the tubs. If these checks pass the noise is most likely from the gear case and will need to be replaced. I have replaced a few gear cases because of this. You may find a yellowish oil liquid under neath the unit or on the pulley and belt. This is another indication of a bad gear case. Attached is a link to the repair video for this as well as a link to purchase the part.

In reply to: ERROR CODE FH

Hello. Here is the information on this error code as stated in the tech sheet for your model.

Possible Causes / Procedure
• If there is no water in the unit:
– Make sure that both valves at the water source(s) are turned on all the way.
– Check for plugged or kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet valves.
– Verify inlet valve operation.
• If there is water in the unit:
– Verify drain pump operation.
– Verify that the pressure switch hose is in good condition and properly connected to tub
and pressure switch.
1. Verify there is not a siphon problem.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Verify wire harness connections to inlet valves, pressure switch, drain pump, flow meter,
and Central Control Unit (CCU).
4. Check all hoses for possible leaks.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Verify pressure switch operation.
7. Verify flow meter operation by blowing air through the part and measuring the resistance.
8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any cycle.

As you can see there are a lot of things related to this error code that could cause an issue. At what point in the cycle do you get the error code?

Tim, I am assuming you are referring to the evaporator fan motor in the freezer section. If it is running in reverse it will cause this issue. Many of the universal motors can be switched to run ccw or cw . That is counter clockwise or clockwise. Send us the complete model number and what rotation the motor is running so we can help further. Also a picture if you can take one. Matt Ace technician

Question closed. There was a problem with a capacitor, I replaced it with new one and everything worked perfectly!

I’m getting noise from inside the freezer. When the fan starts. I’ve tried to remove the 2 stop pans with the flat head screw driver, but wasn’t successful. Any tricks or tips to get the right angel on this? Seem like it’s screwed maybe?

Thanks,
-Frank

In reply to: No power

Keith, I would first make sure you have power to the unit. With no lights at all I would absolutely start there. You need to check for voltage at the outlet. I have also added a few no start dryer videos if you have power to the outlet. See links below. The blinking “clean light” is a common problem with some of the Kenmore and Whirlpool models dishwashers. The problem is usually attributed to water supply temperatures being too low when filling. Apparently, there are some issues with the temperature sensing circuits in some dishwashers that causes an error code to be generated if a certain water temperature is not achieved in a specified time interval. There is a reset sequence that you can try to clear the fault. Push the NORMAL WASH then HEATED DRY buttons in that sequence two to three times. The unit will enter diagnostics mode, but can be stopped by pressing the CANCEL button. This will clear any existing faults and should return the dishwasher to normal operation.

To keep the fault from returning, it is recommended that you run your hot water faucet in the kitchen until it runs hot BEFORE you start the dishwasher. This will heat the water in the supply line for the dishwasher (most dishwashers are fed from the kitchen sink supply line). The theory is that if you fill the dishwasher with hot water from the start of the wash cycle instead of the cool water that is normally in the lines (especially if you have a hot water tank located far away from the kitchen), this should satisfy the requirements of the temperature sensing circuits. If the fault reappears, there should be a tech sheet located inside the lower panel under the door that explains what the fault is. The flashing light will be a series of flashes, followed by a pause. If you indeed have a component problem, it will depend on the number of flashing lights in the sequence. Refer to the tech sheet to determine WHAT component is affected and how to troubleshoot. If you are in need of any parts please support our parts department on line at http://savemoreonparts.com/ or call 1-800-830-5465 7-days a week until 11pm Eastern time. Sensible products TSE-1, I would give it about an 7 out of 10, works well with some door boots, not so well with others. Still like a good sturdy needle nose pliers for most.

Hi Mat
The clean light flashes 4 times, stops for a bit and then flashes 4 times again continuously (the manual identifies this as an error code.
I did unplug (power off) the unit and the problem was not corrected. I also sequenced through pushing the High Temp. Scrub and Heated Dry buttons several times as was identified online as a reset, but this did not work either.
Is there another way to reset this model?
