Figured out the knobs are broken but not sure how to replace the start one. Couldn’t find a video to do it myself.

My dryer needs some help! Has power, seems like it should start, but the drum doesn’t turn at all. Need this working and would be willing to take it apart if it’s something I can fix. If not, is it worth calling someone to come look?

Also, pretty sure it’s the coils? Figured I should double check that with you.

I live in Brazil, my gas dryer is labeled as Brastemp but it is a Whirlpool Gas Dryer (just like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b08iUTzpncc). It stopped working and thanks to your videos i discovered that the electric motor was burned. After changing it the dryer started to work again but now it is overheating. Do you think can be the cycling thermostat (CT)?

The dryer is not producing heat. I took the heating element out and the coil doesn’t seem broke anywhere. Should I still replace it or is something else causing the problem?

Thank you
Dustin

Checked the power, has it. Seems finicky. Sometimes if I open and close the door and replug it back in, it works again, just fine.

What should I check? Got the panels off and am not sure what to look for. Pulled up the parts schematic from your site and can get a visual from that I think if needed. Couldn’t find any videos specific to my model. Thanks.

Power O.K. to terminal block. No Lights, Nothing Works.
Replaced main control board per troubleshooting guide supplied with dryer, but did not fix problem. Dryer will operate fine once (infrequently) then nothng works after that. Checked through to control panel connections..everything is clean and tight, Dryer would not work after replacing main control board. Put old board back in and it worked for one complete cycle. Then no lights and no start situation again.

Door switch clicks crisply and seems O.K. but haven’t tested due to access.. Light comes on inside drum when door open and off when door closed.. If I need to remove back panel I need help with how to remove “clip” at vent opening….can’t figure how to unclip.

There are two boards inside user panel….nothing burnt, all looks clean and fine except a tiny bit of corrosion on the board side of the wide ribbon cable. (cleaned and WD-40).

If I remember correctly, both times that the user panel lights came on and dryer worked was directly after I had thrown the main fuse (at the main house fuse box) off and then on, but I have been unable to duplicate this scenario.

Please help, and if I have to remove back panel from dryer cabinet, advise how to unclip the clip at the vent opening.

Thanks

I have maytag dryer: 6800AWW
I saw the ignitor is on and the flame is on for less than 1 minute, the go down. Then later flames come back again for less than 1 minute, then go down again.
Is this the issue with valve coil?
(I already changed the High limit thermostat, ignitor, and thermal fuse but problem still there)

I have a Kenmore 79691172210 Dryer. The heat is not staying on for more than 10 seconds. The igniter turns bright red then the flames come up. It stay on for 8 seconds then the igniter slowly fades and then turns off completely. The barrel still spins. 30-45 seconds later, the flame comes on again and it cycles off again. Can anyone confirm that these are symptoms of a bad gas coil?

After much research, I found it to be the gas coils but for this specific model, I can’t get just the coil and need the whole gas assembly?!?! What gives? A $20 part is bad but I need to pay $130 for the assembly?!

Thank you experts!

I have a Amana gas dryer and the dryer won’t turn on. Every time I push the start button, it will trip my house circuit fuse. I tried plugging in a different outlet and it will trip that before I even push the stat button. I unplug the wire on the machine that spins the drum and it will also trip the fuse, (I mean with some wires unplugged and pushing the start button it will still trip the fuse). Do you have any ideas where the issue is?

Yesterday I was using it in bulky items cycle with 3 tennis balls to help fluff, and there was a beeping sensor going off while drying – but no error message. I opened the door and switched the cycle to normal. It worked fine and follow up “touch up” cycle also worked twice. I went to use the touch up cycle this morning, mand the light on the inside of the dryer won’t come on, and it won’t start. All of the display cycles light up and seem to work properly, but won’t start. Just gives me three quick beeps as though the dryer door is open. It shuts nice and tight, and the door catches seem to be intact and sturdy. I have had the occasional problem when after starting the dryer, about 30-45 seconds later it would shut off prematurely. When restarted it would go through entire cycle. I’ve ignored that problem since it’s very sporadic. Could they be related? I don’t know if I need one or two new door latch kits or a new door switch?
