My Maytag washer will not agitate. It fills, drains, and spins fine. When it comes to the agitate part of the cycle, it makes a low humming noise ( I believe this is the same noise as it normally makes, only minus the sounds of swishing water). After a while, a squealing noise starts, and I can smell burning rubber. The noise is just like a loose belt in a car. The loss of agitation was also progressive, from a ‘weak’ wash, to very minimal movement of the agitator, to complete failure to move, along with the other symptoms.

I checked the belts and they are fine, and there is no oil or liquid leaking. With the belt off, the large central pulley underneath is hard to turn counter-clockwise, and moderately hard to turn clockwise. There is no grinding, rumbling, or clinking noises. The tensioner moves freely.

I might guess that perhaps the transmission has become clogged or the grease has become sticky, or something has wound itself around the parts somewhere?

*This is an edited repeat of an earlier question, but with more details.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi, have a Kenmore 80 series washer. Seemed to be the timer. So, I replaced that. Didn’t fix it. Bypassed the lid switch to see if that was it. It obviously is not the lid switch.
This was my “today’s adventure”.
Washer washes, then stops all function. Waiting to see if it fires up. Waited 18 min, moved the knob past the “blue dots” on the timer thing. Went passed the first “line” , continued washing. Went thru spin cycle, but stopped at rinse, stalled. Waited 10 min, moved the knob and it’s filling. Filled ok, then rinsed all the way thru “rinse, spin and the off” buttons. Still agitating. Contacted the searspartsdirect.com . Very nice, but it was the “help you find parts dude”. Being directed to the website, it sugguests the main control board. Have already spent $175 for the timer. (needed replaced, could tell once I got it in). Does the electronic-control-board sound like the last option to you?
I have to turn and turn the knob b4 I can find a “drain and spin” that works. Then, if I’m not out watching it, it restarts the cycle. Starts filling the washer with water after spin is in off. Saw that might me the temp control. UGG…

This is a he machine and unfortunately I used some regular liquid tide detergent. I’ve since ran several cycles with no detergent, he bleach on self clean mode and cleaned the machine with he cleaner. I’ve also ran the diagnostic test and it won’t go past c7. It drains all the water and then tries to agitate for about 10 minutes and then starts to fill back up with water. It does not go past c7 on the diagnostic test. Can this be fixed?

The outer door panel is broken and prevents the door from closing properly. Since the outside panel was broken, it came off easily. Now I am trying to put it back on. What is the best way to put the door back on? It appears the door needs to be disassembled so it will fit around the door hinge.

Thanks

My washer wasn’t spinning so I took off the cover and found a broken belt down underneath. I couldn’t find a video with the part number or model and need a little help in figuring out how to install the new one.

This washer gets to spin cycle and won’t drain. You can hear hum and burning smell. Most of the time I can rock the machine front to back or visa versa and it will start to drain and spin. The occurrences of this are getting more frequent and it is getting harding to get the machine to start back up by rocking it. Sometimes now have to unplug it for awhile and try. Also it seems easier to get to work if I take clothes out of machine.

I have an odd problem, our duet washer is filling, with hot water only, when completely turned off and not in use. I came down to do laundry and found quite a substantial amount in the tub already. I drained it and did my load, and then checked the next day and same thing. I have a feeling this is also causing our hot water heater to run more than normal since the water is actually warm. Any help is appreciated.

My washer won’t spin my clothes out enough, they are sopping wet still. I replaced the lid latch thinking it was that from a video I saw, and then was told it may be my control board from someone else, so I’ve done that as well. Really frustrated now, what else do I need to do?

I have been having problems with my washing machine. The lid lock light begins to blink throughout different parts of the cycle. When this happens I have to pause the whole cycle, wait for light to stop blinking and unlock, and press start for it to lock again to continue throughout the rest of the cycle. I have to do this several times in order to complete a load of laundry. I did a diagnostics test like you said too in one of your videos, but I do not have the sheet to tell me what my error code means. The first set in the error code was sense, rinse, spin, and done.. Followed by the second set which was only the done light. Can you please help me figure out what this code means as well as why my lid lock begins to blinking numerous times throughout every cycle?

Maytag washer starts spinning clockwise during the agitation cycle then overflows.
During the agitation cycle the tub goes from the small jerks into a fast clockwise spin.
Help?

My washer isn’t spinning out or draining. I checked the lid switch from a video I found but that seems fine. I did do a load of rugs last and am wondering if maybe something got stuck in the pump? Thanks in advance for any help on this!

Something seems bound up. The motor is making an electrical hum noise and it’s pulling alot of current (my lights are dimming). A self reseting circuit breaker soon trips after about 15 seconds of this. I flipped the unit over and the big pully would only turn in one direction. After a few rotations, it seemed free and turned in both directions. I flipped the unit back upright and plugged it in, but it still would not spin. Should I be able to spin the drum by hand? It will not turn either direction now. Any ideas what it is?

Hi,

I watched your video on MTW6700TQ1 , but I am unable to remove the tub even with 2 people it is lodged on there good. Do you have any recommendations on another way to get this out? Would it be easier if I tipped the washer onto its side and tried to pull it out?

My washing machine is making a horrible loud & grinding noise through the the rinse and spin cycles and I’m not sure where we should even begin to find out what’s wrong. I watched a few videos but none of the noises sounded similar and I’m not sure what to look for. Thanks in advance for any help with this.

My washer is making some very unusual and strange noises during it’s cycle. I just got it not long ago and I don’t ever remember my old one sounding like this. How would I know what’s normal and what might be a problem? Should I have a service call on it just to make sure? I’d hate to let something go that could cause damage down the road.

I am looking for a way to access my drain pump as I’m getting error code E01 & F09. I see one of your videos that shows removing the kick panel to get to the pump but my washer doesn’t have a kick panel, it has an entire front face panel.
