Freezer seems to be working fine but everything in my fridge is frosting up and freezing no matter what temperature setting I put it on. What is going on?

My ice wouldn’t come out so I aimed my hair dryer up the despencing hole in the front. Held the rubber black flap up with a wooden spoon and I think I knocked it out of what ever holds it in place because it won’t work now and you can move the piece up and down. how do I get that put back in the slots>

My refrigerator has twice leaked water in perhaps 1-2 months’ time, and each time it is just a small leak, perhaps 4-6 ounces each time. Would this be indicative of a frozen/plugged drain? I’d like to know that I’m going in the right direction before beginning the process shown in your video.

I Have a Whirlpool Gold French Door Refrigerator
M/N:GX5FHDXVB03 S/N:K02386807 purchased on 6/21/2010.
-The Vertical Mullion Rail (Flipper Mullion) is very warm or even hot to the touch.
-The freezer, set on the warmest setting is too cold.
-The refrigerator is not cold enough.
-After the internal controls for the refrigerator and the freezer are both set to off, the unit continues to sound like it is running. This stops only when it is unplugged.
How should I proceed?

I have similar Kenmore. Ref part started freezing food, then a few days later I saw water on ref shelves. Long story short, removed ice maker, removed back panel of freezer (may have to defrost ice a bit to free it), and then saw ice buildup in drain tray and over drain tube. Removed back of refrig to see drip pan. Then in the freezer part, used hair drier and poured hot water on the ice to melt it. Soaked water run off with towel. Continued until water flowed down drain tube. Checked in the drain pan to see the water.

THEN from what I saw on another video, added an 18 gauge cooper wire apox 12″ long to the lower heating element. There are two elements, one on top of the cooling fans and one on the bottom. These heat up during the defrost cycle to melt ice. Water drips into the drain tray and down the drain tube. Careful when working around the fans, they bend easily and cut fingers even easier.

Looped one end of wire on the left side of the lower defrost element Then looped the other end on the right side of the lower element while shaping the cooper wire down to but not touching the drain tray (C shape). This should put heat right over the drain tray and tube to help melt any ice buildup.

ALSO from what I read about one of the causes of this ice build up in the freezer, warm moist air rises in the drip tube, meats the cold freezer air, and the moisture freezes up in the drain tube causing the ice dam. So I purchased two small elbow tubes and a worm clamp. Using pipe tape, connected the two elbows into a U shape and added them to the bottom of the drip tube. Use pipe tape and clamp to secure to the bottom of the tube. When water drips from the freezer, some of it stays in the U and prevents warm moist air from rising to the heater. Similar to the U shape in plumbing to keep sewer gases out of the house. QED so far.

I own a Maytag refrigerator Model MFI2269VEW, 2 years old. The icemaker is not making ice but water is coming through the dispenser. Since water is coming through the dispenser would it be the ice maker itself or something else? It is connected to a reverse osmosis system and the refrigerator filter is still in place. I turned the on/off switch off, then on, and the arm did work and reset but I still didn’t hear water fill icemaker mold. My wife and I haven’t used the icemaker that much the last few months.

Thanks

My Crosley fridge is accumulating quite a bit of water inside. I don’t think it’s condensation from it not cooling, it seems cold enough, and I didn’t spill anything. Why would there be so much? Is it something I can fix? My husband thinks it quit cooling at some point and defrosted but it seems ok right now.

hi I am a tech. a tech before me had changed the board in this unit. problem was that the unit stays in defrost way to long melting the food in the freezer.new board didn’t fix it. when I looked at it I noticed that the condenser fan was bad, I replaced it, did not solve the problem. I then replaced the evaporator thermistor, did not solve the problem. I watched a video by a ge tech who said if the fan shorts out it might take out the board, he said the way to tell is by checking the 2 resistors under j2 connector. I checked and there not burnt. I then saw a # of poasts where many people are having the same issues, they have replaced all thermistors, board, defrost stat, and still have the issue. I know that if the evap thermistor fails to shut the defrost off then the board should override it and shut it down. do you think their is a problem with these boards?. btw when the stat does open . compressor and both fans come on and it cools fine. this one has me stumped. any ideas?

Fan not blowing in either compartment. Pushed the test button, all led lights lit up on display, fan was blowing in both compartments. Fridge does hum, but after the test, a clicking noise from compressor area, then nothing.

I at first thought that the ice dispenser motor was the problem, so I have replaced it with a new drive motor. However neither the new motor or the old motor turn on when I push on the ice dispenser paddle. So I am now thinking that the problem is in the control panel switches or ????
Just looking for some other ideas and help.

Thanks

refrigerator isnt cooling in fresh food or bottom freezer also no fans ecept for compressor fan. Diagnosis showed freezer defrost sensor. after replacing sensor let run for 24 hours still no cool or fans. checked power board had 5 and 12 volts. replaced main control board. could hear Bottom freezer fan run after holding in light switch for 30 seconds. still no ff fan. Run diagnosis indicated main board was running fan. removed back cover and checked for voltage at fan connection. voltage was 0. also noticed coils were not frosting. assuming bad compressor or possible leak but would this cause the fan to shut down. will go out tomorrow and stick some gauges on it. Any help would be appreciated. Customer fridge has been down for four days

Hi, My refrigerator leaks when ice builds up on the bottom of the freezer. I have seen a couple of your videos about what the problem is but I cannot find one regarding my Maytag. Is there a solution to the Maytag problem? I have no water line or ice maker on the unit. I saw one video for a Whirlpool freezer that looks close to the Maytag. Are these the same? I know everyone owns everyone else these days. https://www.appliancevideo.com/update-drain-fix-kit-whirlpool-refrigerator-water-leaking/

Thank you.

Fridge freezes behind the back panel until the fan at first makes noise (hitting the ice) then stops and the fridge starts to get warm. When I remove the back panel I can see the ice is everywhere and there is a big lump of Ice around a wire or tube on the right, then at the bottom of the evaporator (I think that’s what you call it) so the drain at the bottom is all iced over. I have gone thru this process of taking it apart and defrosting it, each time within a few weeks we are back to square one. I saw a video of one of your guys fixing an issue in a very similar model in a video on your site called “Refrigerator Repair – Not cooling properly, freezing up on the back panel -Samsung – RF266AEPN” I Looks exactly like my issue, I just need to know the exact parts I need to do the job. Can you help.

Hello,
My husband is trying to diagnose of our refrigerator is dying. He says the fans seem to be running but it’s not cooling. He’s thinking compressor but I wanted to know what else we could check before deciding to get rid of it or attempt to fix it. Thank you ahead of time.

Hello,
I have a fridge that has water accumulating in the bottom and is beginning to not cool. Is the water just condensation? Is this something I could fix myself? I’d love some help with this.

Looking for an idea of why this unit is failing again. This will be the fourth repair on this in two years, and KitchenAid has been useless. Main board has been replaced once, rebuilt once, something about the defroster has been replaced, and the freezer is not working. Again.

Can you tell me how to navigate the menus for diagnostics?

Any help appreciated.

Hello,
My fridge has a leak somewhere, it doesn’t seem to be much, but I noticed a small amount of water on the one side and am unsure where it’s coming from. It’s no where near the dispenser area so I was hoping it may just be the drip pan? I’d like to get this taken care of as soon as possible because I had hardwood floors installed last year and am worried this has been going on for some time and I didn’t notice. Help!
