The ice maker isn’t making cubes, or much of anything except a huge block of ice in the bin. I need to replace the ice maker itself but haven’t done one of these before. I’ll also need the part information if possible.

Already have replaced the fresh food evaporator and filter drier, and customer states they are still having cooling issues. I don’t run into many of these and have spent quite a bit of time there, was hoping someone here might have a clue.

This unit is in an unheated garage, seems to run constantly. Have checked major components and they seem fine, I must be missing something?

Had the customer defrost the unit to get the cover off, looks like a conductor in the drain might solve my problem. Do you guys do this often? Is there a part replacement I’m missing? Hoping I didn’t overlook anything, but seems like the backed up and frozen drain was the main issue.

We have a Maytag refrigerator . We had replaced the icemaker and the water inlet valve on this unit 4 months ago.. We have a low water level at fill and the partial cubes are hanging up on top. The unit has good water pressure going to it and a new water filter. Has anybody run into a problem other than the water inlet valve being the cause of this problem? I’m having a hard time with a water inlet valve on city water failing in 4 months.
Thanks in advance

The unit has a lot of condensation and thawing happening, but everything checks out. Looks like door may have been jammed open by it’s contents, or not closing correctly, but would this be the root of the problem?

I have a bad ice maker in this fridge and need to change it out. It’s a french door bottom mount and it’s located up in the top left of the fresh food section. I haven’t done too many of these and wanted to know if you had a video that could help me out? Most I found weren’t similar to what I have. Thanks.

Been doing some research and think it’s an Ice Fan issue, would like to take a part with me, can someone confirm this and possibly what to purchase?

This unit was failing to go through it’s defrost cycle in the freezer, and the fresh food side wasn’t cooling. Narrowed it down to the evaporator fan motor assembly failing and the fresh food fan was bad as well. Having a heck of time finding part information on these two and was hoping for some help. Really appreciate what you have going here and have been telling all my guys to hop and and use this when necessary.

Complaint was the freezer was not cold enough. The refrigerator has no error codes. The PCB board on the back has an LED light that is blinking two times. From the service manual, the two blinks mean there is something wrong with the wire harness to the compressor or the compressor be bad. Checked wire harness and everything looked ok. I reset the refrigerator (unplugged) and the refrigerator started cooling and the LED on the board stopped blinking. The unit cooled correctly for a few days. Now the refrigerator is not cooling at all. Neither the refrigerator or freezer section is cooling. No error codes again. The LED light is blinking twice again and compressor is running. Checked for sealed system for any visible oil leak and couldn’t fine any. unplugged unit. The LED stopped blinking, but the refrigerator did not start cooling. Any suggestions?

There’s a lot of ice around the fresh food evaporator cover and I’m defrosting it to check the drain. How can I keep it from freezing over?

Freezer light not working and will not dispense water and ice. Ice maker not making ice and no water in ice maker mold.
I suspect this is all related. Found tech sheet and ran diagnostics. Appears ref door switches are working. Freezer door switch is working. Ref lights come on but the freezer light does not come on. No power to led lights for freezer (checked at light), checked for both ac and dc volts. Do I need to replace the PCB located at the top of the left ref door.
Would this be a correct diagnosis?

I have a GE refrig model: PFSF5RKZAWW that is Dead, no display, no interior lights, no fans, no compressor.
He verified 120 v through emi filter to the main board and inverter but unit will not fire up. Pulled individual harnesses to see if something may have been shorting low voltage but no change. He did change main board and user interface with same results.

Customer had a power outage and the display is not working now. There was a stored error code for the I/M that the customer is aware of and did not want fixed. Is it possible that a reset and diagnostics would be all that needs done here?

I can’t seem to find what the issue is here, initially diagnosed as the pad actuator but that doesn’t seem to be it now that I have it apart. Any thoughts?

Just went out on a call where a different company told the customer they needed a new ice maker because theirs wasn’t producing any ice or seeming to work at all. I replaced the saddle valve and cleared ice from the frozen line to the ice maker so they are now good to go. A lot of companies are trying to sell customers what they don’t need. We’ll get repeat business from this customer for a more costly repair because we know what to check and are honest.

I installed the condenser fan just fine, I had to get a sub for the main board which was WR55X10942 which says it replaces the original number of WR55X10037!
The instructions say to check for a green wire and cut it , also to cut a thermister wire if “it is a bottom freezer drawer unit or if it has “X” in the Serial number, This one is neither, so I just installed it. Some of the connectors are in a different places but they all did fit…
The compressor and condenser fan came on after a few seconds and shut off after 5 or 7 seconds. NO display inside the fridg.
any suggestions , do you think I have a bad new replacement board?

I have a model Amana refrigerator and the refrigerator section went warm. We do not usually service the Whirlpool product lines usually sticking with Samsung, LG and GE as we are authorized for them and have access to their literature, etc.
Can anyone assist with some service information and any tips for this model? I understand looking at an exploded view that the unit is a single evaporator model with a damper control. Is there anything common that could cause the damper to malfunction or do you think I am even looking in the right area?

****Refrigerator is not cooling or staying cold….
I am not able to tell in frig has air /fan flowing… upper part feels warmer
freezer fan is running,
note***, Bottom freezer has had frost, back panel also appears to have ice build up in “grill” areas
Condenser Fan is running, have not checked if condenser is hot, or takin off panel but it sounds like it is running
Would really like to get a better idea the cause of problem what parts to price out to proceed.
Also I have contacted Sears, since that is where I purchased it….but my prefer a private repair person. (any suggestion?)
