Hi — first off, thank you for the clear, well shot video, on Whirlpool Refrigerator, ice on bottom of freezer floor, Water Leaking-Update Drain Fix Kit W10619951:
I completed the repair according to your video, and thawed the freezer for 4 hours (until the water stopped pooling in the bottom of the main compartment) and assumed it would be good. 3 days later, I’m getting the same buildup of ice on the bottom of the inside of the freezer.
Is it possible that the drain is clogged with something other than ice? i.e. food? Or do I need to thaw the fridge for longer than 4 hours?
Thanks for any help.

I am trying to release the transmission from the unit to further look at possible tub not spinning problems. I have seen where you have to release the internal screw from at the bottom of the dispenser that helps to hold the transmission shaft. The screw head is stripped; and I am assuming that someone else has been into the unit. Is there a way of getting the screw off; or the plastic agitator shaft completely out of the way so I can continue at removing the transmission/basket drive from the bottom.
Thanks… Fred in Lubbock. TX

I have a model #PSS26SGPASS that stopped cooling and just makes a loud noise, I think from the freezer side. The loud noise is only present when the doors are shut. The light inside and digits come on but doesn’t show right temperature. At first it showed 555 on each screen, then it would show an error that looked like “Le”, then it would look like it lets me change the temp but then would default to the numbers 78 on each side. Any idea what could be the problem? Thank you!

I watched this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4ULq9svKZk.
When I tested the 2 connections on the top of the fan thing, the one on the left had continuity but the one on the right did not. Then we removed the heating element and it was broken so I ordered a new one. But if I also didn’t have continuity on the operating thermostat does that mean that needs to be replaced as well? On the video, I couldn’t tell exactly what parts he was referring to.

My Controls appear to work normally, but drum doesn’t rotate. On initial Diagnostic test, when I press power btn, I get the Code 08, I’ve tested the Thermal Fuse, it’s OK.
I’m suspicious of Broken Belt switch, as it doesn’t click when I depress lever.
If the Code 08 doesn’t mean anything, I plan to continue with motor control test.
Thanks, Bill

When starting a new washing cycle, the machine used to fill with water when the lid was closed, then the agitator would start after a few minutes…..Now, as soon as the lid is closed, the washer begins agitating with no water in the tub. The water starts filling about 5 seconds after the lid is closed with the agitator still working. The rest of the cycle appears normal until final spin…..It leaves some water (about 1/2 inch), at the bottom of the tub after the end of cycle. Now, the only way to get all water out of the tub after final spin is to turn on the extra rinse feature. This occurs regardless of wash type setting.

Hello, my front-load Whirlpool is making a clunking noise when it spins. When I stopped the machine and started to spin the drum by hand afterwards, I could hear an almost scraping-like noise (almost like there’s a coin or something stuck between the rubber band and the actual drum), but when I pull the rubber band back and look in, I can’t see anything there.
I’m concerned that something has fallen below the drum itself. Do you have any suggestions on how I could get to it or how I should proceed? How bad is this for my machine?
Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

We’re trying to determine what’s wrong with our dryer. The drum isn’t turning when it’s on, and my husband thinks the belt has broken. Is there another possibility? I saw an idler video that had similar problems as well. Wanted a resource for him to take a look at before trying to fix himself. Thanks!

I have a washer that is testing my patience. Originally it wasn’t spinning out and I noticed the lid latch seemed loose, so I assumed it was the problem. Replaced it and same issue. Read on another website it could be the board, so I did that. Same thing. Anyone on here think of what else I could get my hands on to check? Really don’t want to have to buy a new one.

My dryer seems to heat perfectly fine sometimes, and then other times it takes almost double the time to dry. From what I’ve read on here, it seems like gas coils are the likely answer? Wanted to check before ordering any parts.

I’m hoping one of the techs there can help me figure out what part I need to replace. I’ve checked the line and the pump for any debris but didn’t see anything. Just sounds like the pump isn’t actually working correctly. Is it more than one assembly I’ll need to replace? A video would be great as well if you can find one for me.

Our dishwasher lights up, has power, but will not start. Sometimes if I cancel it, open and close the door, and hit start again, it begins. But it’s getting more and more frustrating. Any thoughts on what it could be?

I have disassembled and repaired this in door ice and water dispenser 3 times for various fixes, but this one i need some help. Both ice and water levers fail to activate. i have replaced the plastic bracket in the past and it is not a mechanical contact issue with the levers. i have also checked the door switch with an ohm meter and it seems to be functioning also. what is the next part to look into? thanks

I have a Kenmore washer that the unit is not spinning and the clothes are sopping wet; but there is no standing water inside the tub. It sounds like it is in a spin mode but it is not spinning. I have checked the motor coupler and it appears to be fine… nothing is cracked or stripped… it seems to be in good condition. I have also checked the water hoses attached to the water pump and there is no blockage. What other conditions would cause the unit to not spin??? Would a possible transmission issue be next to check??? The unit sounds like it wants to work but nothing appears to spin; and the fabric softener is not dispensing during usage.
Thank you for any help –

The back panel of my freezer is frosting over and I got it defrosted enough to test the heater. I’m pretty sure it’s failed but I couldn’t find any videos to help me further. Thanks for anything you can suggest for me.

Hi,
I just fixed the problem of my top freezer refrigerator leaking water following one of your videos, thank you so much! I am now wondering how long until the ice builds up again and clogs the drain. Is there anything you recommend we do to prevent this from happening again and do you know how long until I need to clear the drain again?
Thanks!

We have to keep pushing the start button on our Kenmore Ultrawash Quiet Guard Standard dishwasher from 4-6 times before it keeps running. When you first start it, it will fill (it starts and run for less than 30 seconds). When the fill stops and it’s ready to go to the next thing, it stops and all of the lights on the control panel go out. We push start again and it will run for another few seconds, then the lights go out again. This process repeats several times. After pushing start for the initial time and then again 4-5 times, it will finally continue to run and successfully complete the cycle. Can you offer any guidance for this? This dishwasher is only a couple of years old… no more than 3.
Thank you for any help you can offer.

I have a maytag microwave and a few months ago the fan would make a lot of noise while it was on high. The noise sounded as if the blades were hitting against something. Not long after the microwave started making that noise during heating as well. Last week, the microwave made a loud noise while heating and the noise stopped all together and it sounded like the problem went away. Well today I used the microwave and it didn’t really sound like a microwave should. There really was no “normal” noise. I could only hear the tray spinning and not the regular microwave hum. Can this microwave be fixed or does it need to be replaced?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Not sure if this is a cycling problem or a bad timer? Dishes are clean(but slimmy not rinsed) and standing water is not dirty but sometimes cloudy.

Hello, I disconnected the part under the freezer door and tried to run the water. However, water barely comes out and completely stops. There is good water pressure unto the back of the refrigerator. It sounds like it’s trying when I push the lever. Ice works fine. What might be the problem on mine, and how can I fix it? I also replaced the filter with a new one.
Thank You.
If pressure is good coming out of the valve can the problem be the water filter housing. How can I eliminate that as the cause? I see no freezing anywhere.

The freezer is set at -4 degrees on the digital display and seems to be working properly. The fridge is set at 34 degrees and still shows 34 degrees on the digital display but is much warmer. I vacuumed the coils and seems to run OK. Please help me diagnose the issue.
Thanks,
David

Thanks for the prompt reply.
The condensor coils are clean. they are cool to the touch. I would expect them to be warm or hot?
The condensor fan is running fine.
The freezer has two separate sets of coils. The lower coils were frozen over and its heater was bad.
I replaced the defrost harnes wires which contained the two defrost heaters and new defrost terminator thermostat and did defrost the entire set of coils with hair dryer. The top set of coils had no frost.
no improvement. could the problem be the manuel damper. I doubt the timer is bad since it turns off everything ever 16 hrs. like clock work. I doubt the cold thermostat is bad because the compressor and all the fans work for the 16hrs. Could the compressor have two phases that I am fooled in thinking that its working-it is hot and vibrates for the 16 hrs.
What would you suggest. the settings are b and 9 now but no change with changes from b threw d and 5 threw 9 waiting 24 hrs after changes to let unit stabelize.
HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!
