This unit overfilled due to no loop in drain line and started the drain fault cycle.
Now unit is completely dry and can’t get unit out of drain fault cycle. Have tried putting unit into diagnostics mode but will not go into diagnostics. Not familiar with Bosch DW. Any advise on what to do next. Can lift up float in bottom and hear the switch clicking closed and open. Thanks,

French door unit with fresh food evaporator drain freezing up. Went out prepared to replace fresh food fan cover, but this one was different. The drain was steamed repeatedly from both ends, drain pan and evaporator, but to no success getting it opened up. Finally fished a 1/4″ plastic line up from the drain pan side about 20 – 30″ and forced steam up through the 1/4″ line inch by inch until the line thawed and water flowing once again.
This is the second time in the last 7 months we have had to do this process. I personally do not see a fix other than getting a new unit. The line freezes inside the back wall of freezer because of the way the line is routed. As you looking at the unit from the back, it is the drain tube to the far right side, the center drain is for the freezer.
Has anyone else experienced similar issue, is it only with this model?

After seeing the back freezer wall covered in frost. I know it is a defrost issue. How do I narrow it down to which defrost component is bad? How to test with meter?

Looking for a video that help me to replace the Ignitor switches.
Key point. Do I need to take off the gas valves of every single ignitor switch?
General Videos of different Models they don’t show that gas valves need to be taken off.
Video has be for that specific Model CGS1740ADH S/N: 15221545WU.

Thanks for your help.

While still under warranty, we had this problem. The technician came out and spun the dial and pushed the start button in a specific sequence. This solved our problem. He explained that he had performed a diagnostic calibration routine and had reset the programming to the origional factory program. He speculated that the program had become corrupted and had to be reset.

A customer called me about his rental unit fridge not keeping the temperatures. The first thing I did was open the freezer, and it was PACKED to the walls with food. There was no room for air. I then proceeded to remove the food ( 15 minutes later ?) I saw that the back wall was frosted up. There was an inch of ice on the bottom. So, I got out my heat gun and began to defrost it all. 45-60 minutes later, I was able to remove the back wall. The evaporate-motor was clogged with ice. It couldn’t move.
So, the next day, I replaced it. BUT it didn’t come on. I had the door OPEN, and it wouldn’t come on. So, I opened the pack board cover to see if I could find anything. And it all “looked and smelled” good. Then I thought I heard a noise coming from the freezer. It sounded like a fan motor running very softly. I opened the door to inspect it and it was not on. Then I closed the door, and I heard that sound again. So, I opened the door to see if the fan was working. And it was not.
When I closed it again, I heard what I thought was the motor working. ??? This time, I put my ear to the side of the freezer and opened and closed the door. I discovered that when the door was open the motor shut off. And when the door was closed it came back on ever so quietly. Very quietly.

Hi Folks,

This unit is only sixteen months old. Customer called and said the unit was making a loud noise. Upon arrival he explained to quiet down the noise he used a hammer. Upon examination it noted that the evaporate fan motor and blade where surrounded in frost which caused the noise problem. I also noticed the trough was frozen along with a clogged duck bill. Took care of all problems but I got a call back yesterday with the same problem. Even through the duck bill was not clogged the trough was frozen. There was frost around the fan motor and blade. Looked like a defrost problem. Checked the heater, okay and the board looked okay. There is a thermistor but I didn’t check it out. Seemed to be hard wired into frame of the unit. Put in a heat sink to keep the drain hole free. It was getting late so we got it going and are going back Monday to do a diagnostic on the unit.
Again this is a fairly new unit….Any ideas?

Thank you,
