You said last week about the water temp going below 59 degrees it will try to take on hot water to bring temp up. This washer is in the county jail. They are not allowed to have hot water to wash. Is there some way around this so it won’t go to default. And do you have to erase the old codes before the machine will work. I replaced pressure switch.

Can you refer a ” general ” service manual on compressors? Or even a good book on appliance repair? I have a few books on appliance repair BUT they are NOT designed for service technicians. I have had online and DVD training training. Plus, the ” stuff ” that I find on U Tube, PLUS what you have provided.
But, I like good old fashioned written materials. I CANT find anything that is helpful for me. eBay, Amazon, etc. My weakness is in compressors. Can you recommend anything GOOD and informative?
Thanks again

I asked you last week about a Kenmore upright freezer that I determined to have a bad compressor. I got there and the temp in the freezer was 68*. I was told that it stopped freezing a few days ago, ( probably more than that ) and so I checked the evap/fan and it was working fine. So, I pulled it out and checked the compressor and it was so hot, I could barely touch it. I unplugged it for about 15 minutes and put a hard start on it, because the relay was bad. Let it run for about 20 minutes. Both the compressor and hard start were hot.
I was schooled to think that if the compressor is that HOT, and has been running like that for a while; that it’s NO GOOD. The reason is, as I was told, that the high temp breaks down the oils, etc in the compressor.
My customer had another freezer ( chest type ) and it was also NOT freezing. I opened the compressor panel and checked the temperature of the compressor and it was HOTTER than her upright. ( sho has a coffee plus shop ). I told her that both freezers were no good.
Anyways she called her refrigeration service people out. He told her, that the only thing wrong with the chest freezer is that it needs to be defrosted.
QUESTION: was I schooled correctly to think that if the compressor runs that hot for an ” unknown ” period of time that it is NO GOOD?

GOOD AFTERNOON. I CHECKED OUT THE UNIT AND FOUND THE WATER DISPENSER WORKING, BUT NO WATER FLOWING INTO THE ICE TRAY. I SAW THE TINES IN THE ICE TRAY MOVE AND THE METAL ARM RISE AND DROP. I PULLED THE WATER LINE AND THE WATER PRESSURE WAS A LITTLE WEAK NOT TO BAD. I TESTED ALL THE SOLINOIDS ON THE WATER INLET VALVE AND GOT SOME OHMS ON EACH, BUT WHEN I CHECKED FOR VOLTAGE, THERE WAS 110 AT THE WHITE AND YELLOW, BUT LOW VOLTS AT THE GREEN. AFTER ALL THIS I LOOKED AT THE ICE MAKER AGAIN AND THE TINES WERE ROTATING AND THE ARM ROSE AND DROPPED AGAIN. I DO HAVE BOTH THE WATER INLET VALVE AND THE ICE MAKER IN MY HAND. COULD BOTH PIECES BE BAD? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT, THANKS. TODD FROM NY.

Dear Sirs,
Thanks for your help. there is an ice build-up in the bottom of the freezer. I watched your videos on cleaning the drain hole, replacing the grommet and installing the p-drain. I was in the process of replacing the p-drain when I removed the hack panel of the freezer and observed a large chunk of ice that had formed over tubing and wires. I have a photo I can send. What is the problem and how do I fix it?
thanks for your help.

I have a Thermador built in refrigerator with a evaporator leak. The unit was built by Kitchen aid. I know the Kitchen Aid evaporator and heat exchanger are 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the Thermador parts. Does anyone know where I can find the Whirlpool part number for these parts or maybe get the equivilant model number.
Thanks

I have a customer that has a Kenmore upright freezer.. It’s reading “Hi-Temp”. “7 on the controls. Before I go and look at it, would you please send to me the service manual for this, or let me know WHERE you get them? Because, I looked on the Internet and couldn’t find it. Second, do you know why it’s reading high?

I have a washer that won’t go into spin cycle during normal cycle and the spin light is blinking all the time. I can not get into the diagnostics mode on the washer it will not go into this mode. If I put it in drain and spin it will go into the spin and get up to full speed I believe it’s the control board any suggestions would be appreciated.

Range was converted to LP, now must be converted back to NG. Landlord changed regulator but that is all. Looks like the surface burners need NG orifices (not on unit). I find them in the parts listing.
I see there are LP orifices in parts listing for both bake and broil burners. I do not see NG orifices listed.
Does any know part numbers for the bake and broil burner orifices for NG? Thanks in advance

I diagnosed this dryer last week as needing a new motor. This is a stacked double dryer. It definitely needed the motor but my error during installation was I did not run the dryer prior to installation so I am missing a critical piece of information. I don’t no if something occurred during the week while I was waiting for parts. The old motor was running last week. After installation the new motor did not run. Another error on my part was not paying close enough attention to where the belt switch wires were plugged into the motor. I need a wiring diagram and some advise on how to check for power to the start winding. I have 120v at the motor testing with a multi meter. Both dryers share one control board. The lower dryer runs fine. The belt switch is good, the door switch is good, I bypassed the belt switch and the door switch and the dryer still did not start. There appears to be only two options for the belt switch wires to hook up the motor and I tried both. I also tried hooking up the old motor and it did not run either. Any advise to get me out of this jam would be appreciated. Thank in advance

When I arrived at customers house I looked in frz. There is a air baffle missing. It channels air into f.f. I tried to look it up but I cannot find it on the marcone site. I know it’s there I have the same model and mine has one. Help. I think the box is not moving air like it should. Thanks

I had a client move the unit so that flooring could be installed. When put back in place the unit is throwing an H2O code. There is no water obstruction and will start to fill then shut off.
Have reset the unit by unplugging
Checked for obstructions, and there are none.
