I have a maytag gas dryer that will work spuratically. You can put a load in and it will dry in a noemal amount of time but if you open the door durning cycle it may not work the next time. It will tumble the clothes but will not heat up. Sometimes you can open the door and restart and it will be fine. I have taken back off cleaned all the lint out which there was no buildup. I have also tested most components but as I said I am not certain when I test them if it is failing at that time since it works when it wants to. I ran the unit for a couple hours trying to get it to fail and never did runing it through cycles stoping and re starting with no fail. My wife tried it an hour later and it wouldn’t work. I tried and it twice and it fired up. Any idea what the problem may be? Best I can determine is the coil

I replaced the ice maker in this Amana refrigerator. Since replacing, cubes are not hardening, ice is clumping in the bin because water not completely frozen when harvested. Temp in freezer is zero. The Amana ice maker part number changed to the DQ model. I transfered over all the parts to the new model. I’m thinking the harvesting is happening to soon or the heater is on to long. The ice maker did not harvest any ice in the first 24 hours and the cubes were frozen toward the evaporator but not completely frozen to the front of the unit. Any ideas on whether I should try a second ice maker or what to look for? Thanks for your help.

This is a new one for me. The above fridge is a french door type with the TV monitor, Pandora, and such. Problem is the drawer above the freezer has no lights shining that would turn on when the freezer were to be opened and the touch panel on this deli drawer is unresponsive. Everything else is working in the fridge. All other lights and it is cooling. Best buy told the customer that the rear main control board would need to be replaced. What say you? Thank you for any advise.

Whirlpool’s newest top load VMW washer with the flat drive belt, actuator, had this one a couple of weeks back. Machine hums only, won’t spin or agitate. With top open (lid closed) in agitation, I could spin the wash plate and motor would agitate in one direction, pulsating on and off in same direction. Could only get a reading of 90VAC at motor, but could not tell if that quick pulse was 120V or not, tried with both analog and digital meters.
Tested the run capacitor on motor with analog meter and the meter showed a quick deflection each time I reversed the leads which in the past would confirm the cap. was good, at least on microwave capacitors in the past.
I ordered motor and capacitor for this machine, although was a tough sell if it was truly the motor, repair vs. new. On return trip I installed the capacitor first, and that was the fix!

It a 2010 unit and customers states that it will start, go thru the sensing cycle and then not advance anymore. Tub sometimes may be slowly turning. Lid lock light will be blinking. Sometimes she is able to unplug washer and restart, then it will work. If she is able to get it started, at the end it has not spun out. Water will be drained. Thinking lid lock issue here.
Checked fault codes – none. Ran it thru automatic test cycle. Everything worked. Tub turns freely and moves freely. Lifts freely. With nothing to lose, decided to run calibration cycle. After 10 minutes, it still had not finished and the lid lock light was blinking. Beginning to think it’s a control board issue now.
I don’t see this machine too much to become an expert on it. Seems when I do, it’s always something new.
Thanks.

We have a Dacor wall oven. This oven had faulted and displayed F1. According to paperwork with the unit was a relay fault.
We replaced the relay board.
We cycled the oven at 350. then switched to High broil for 10 mins. The problem didn’t reoccur.
The customer called over the weekend and said it faulted and displayed F1 again later that night.
We went back out to recheck it. The customer had the breaker off to the unit. I cycled the unit at 350 and 400 and switched to high broil again for 10 mins. The problem did not come back.
So I disconnected the membrane switch. We left the unit with the clock blinking and membrane disconnected. Called the customer next day the fault had not come back. I ordered the membrane, before part arrived the customer called to let us know the fault came, back 2 days later!
The ERC has got to be the problem. I hate to tell the customer thy have to replace both parts. Is this common for for Dacor? Any help is greatly appreciated…

hi…i have a ge top load washer …it will not start..dead…i thought maybe the gfi plug…but i plugged it into another source and it still will not start….i did reset the gfi and when i plugged it back in i heard a pop…..not good i know, but i do not know where to start to check it out…..is it fused?? or do you think something else is blown?

this is what i found elsewhere?? just an fyi…not sure what to think…

Cause 1 Thermal Fuse

If the washer overheats, the thermal fuse will blow. If the line fuse blows, the washer won’t start. To determine if the thermal fuse is at fault, use a multimeter to test it for continuity. If the fuse does not have continuity, replace it. In addition, you should investigate and resolve the problem that caused the fuse to blow. If you don’t resolve the underlying issue, the new fuse will blow too.

Cause 2 Main Control Board

The main control board might be defective. However, the main control board is rarely at fault for this symptom. Before replacing the main control board, first check all of the more commonly defective parts.
