About 1.5 weeks ago our freezer section started warming up, to the point where some things were frozen and others weren’t. We cleaned things up from the vents and adjusted the settings but it got worse, to the point where it wasn’t close to freezing a couple days ago, which is when I got serious about finding what was happening.
I took the back off and found the compressor fan had an obstruction which I removed (poor mouse, I have no idea how he got in the house as we’ve never seen any before), it span right up and I figured everything would be fine after that. Things were quite warm/hot near the fan but cooled off quickly after the fan was working. The fan spins fast and has great airflow, there wasn’t much dust so I cleaned up it, put the cover back on, and left it running overnight.
The next day the freezer was barely cooler than room temperature. I removed the back panel in the freezer and found a big chunk of ice around the top/beginning of the evaporator unit (big meaning perhaps 3 inches in diameter in an oval shape), a little frost on the pipe leading to the radiator but only a little at the beginning of the radiator. I turned it off for a couple hours to let it all melt away.
After it had melted I turned it back on, a couple hours later the beginning of the radiator has a tiny bit of frost but very little actual cooling happening.
A friend who has more experience than I (and a clamp-on ammeter) checked the compressor and we can hear the relay click on and it will stay on using about 10 amps for about 10 seconds and then click off for a few minutes, repeat. Otherwise the compressor fan and evaporator fans are working fine, we just have no cooling. My friends thought is it is the compressor, perhaps locked up from getting too hot.
Any other things to try or is it time to get a new fridge? Thanks for any advice.

Dishwasher will not start. Left hand panel cycle lights on touchpad when pushed work (pots pans, normal, etc.) and stay on for a bit then turn off. Right hand cycle lights (hi temp, sanitize, heated dry) do not come on. Have tested continuity of fuse – all OK. Have tried reset of control board using hi temp and dry buttons being pushed a total of 10 times alternating buttons – but since the lights do not come on it’s not working. Is there a way to test the control board? Is the touchpad part of the control board unit or is it a seperate part? Anyway to test that? Thanks for any assistance.

I’m curious as to what would be causing my gas oven to preheat and beep as if ready, but then not maintain it’s temperature after that?

I know there is good pressure and there is only one water line that comes out of the water solenoid in the back of my fridge. my assumption is that it goes to the filter first then splits to the water dispenser and ice maker. so my question is why is my ice maker not getting water? is there a sensor on the ice maker itself that tells the ice maker to draw water. also I put some water in the tray to see if it would make cubes and it did not. what do you think I need to replace. thanks.

After pushing the start button the washer acts like it’s trying to start then stops and then the lid lock LED flashes for about 5 minutes and unlocks. I’ve run it through the automatic test and it all works fine. I just got laid of and can’t afford to pay someone to fix this and can usually fix most things on my own but I’m stumped with this. I’ve tried to get the diagnostic codes but have failed everything. Not sure if I don’t understand how to get then or if it’s just not working. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

During preheat period, the oven temperature does not reach preset temperature while when baking period starts, the temperature in the oven continues to get hotter beyond the preset temperature (it does not turns off). Oven temperature sensor was replaced but problem persisted. Microwave works fine after board was replaced. Are there any other parts (thermostat, thermal controls, etc.) that the board will control for the oven and need replacement?
thanks,
ao

Hi, I have a Samsung dryer that is running but just not heating. I have replaced the Heating element and checked all of the thermostats, thermistor, relay and power. All are good. There is no lint blockage and the blower turns with the drum. I then took the entire heating element with housing and thermostats into a local repair shop for them to test and everything was good. I was instructed to disconnect the two wires from the relay and connect the blue and black wire together to try to get heat which again resulted in no heat. The local repair shop said that he knows of nothing else to check. Am I really out of options? Please help.

The top drawer in our two drawer Fisher and Paykal DD603 does great until it hits 50 minutes remaining. Then it starts jumping around on time 70 minutes to 40. Kind of goes wacko…. I removed the front panel and the control unit was very hot. I’m wondering if this is the first part I should change. The lower drawer does great.

Hi, my dishwasher randomly came on with a blinking clean light. I watched your informative video on how to reset the codes on other whirlpool dishwashers, mine however doest have the same button setup, and am curious if you know the button combination to reset mine. Ive inspected to element and put a multimeter on it to read the ohms, this checks out as fine. any help would be much obliged.

After watching your video on youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lT1TIjupHk), I am pretty sure that I have the same problem with my fridge since it is not cooling.
My question is about the code for MFF2558WFB3. In the video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lT1TIjupHk) the code used was 12 for MFF2558WFB3 Model.
Would you please confirm with me if I should use the same code? Otherwise how I can retrieve it?
Thank you very much for your time and I hope to hearing back from you.

I believe my icemaker failed leaving it run for a while (bad thermostat?)
The upper part of the freezer was wet and warm, and the compressor is not running. I power cycled the refrig, and it is still not starting up…but taking about .3 amp of power at 125VAC.
This unit has an ADC in it, but I know the “test” feature does not work on the replacement ADC which is in it.
What should I be going after?
